The reason to talk to Bill att importpercision is that there doors open both sideways and up..you dont need to open it upwards everytime wich can be good...:)

How much, give or take, might that run? Mind if I called too and say u sent me?

because everyone i have talked to has said taht they are ok for a weekend warrior but for a daily driver the doors get to be a pain in the ass...they arent powered shocks you have to exort more force to open the door basically by pulling it up at the bottom of the door rather then just pushing it out, the doors dont open automatically

Yeah my buddy has lambo doors on his Civic. I helped put them on. Installation wasnt too bad, but they are high maintenance afterwards. We had to adjust them weekly for the first month or so. The door tends to sag and then rub on the body kit, so we kept adjusting them to hold them up. Also, the required fender mods weaken the fender and make it prone to damage. The door does open out and then up, BUT it only opens out like 8 or 10 inches and then goes up. It is almost impossible to get in/out of the car w/o fully raising the door. It tends to become more of a hastle and that it why it wouldnt be good for a daily driver. Again this is not my car, but it is my best friend's and I did help install the kit. He said he would never use vertical doors again. The cons outweighed the pros........ Here's a picture.

If the hinges weren't so much ($1600 OMG ) I might consider putting some on, but I can spend 1600 on a lot of other things on my car that will make it go much much much faster.....

Thanks guys I'm gonna check out those sites and see what I can find out, if worse comes to worse I'll either jump in through the sunroof or slide in through the windows

Lambo doors...new ricer mod of choice. Use to never see these things, now I see them quite often on hot cars like civics and neons. The couple I've seen close up at car shows don't look too trustworthy to me. the wind was blowing a little and these things where swaying back and forth...looked very flimsy. I'd be scared of something as heavy as a door falling on me or even just breaking off and crashing into the ground.

Very very true. When they are up and the wind starts blowing, they get swaying back and forth pretty good. Strong enough wind could cause major damage. Thgese kits are not nearly as strong and practical as most people think. And we didnt use a cheap kit. We had a Decah kit which retailed for $1600. After my experience with one, I would much rather invest the money into my motor, unless you are going all show.

hello there, you can get straight up bolt on VDC kits that dont need conversions if you go to www.visionautodynamics.com they have the kit, but there are other ones out there. the one thats my favorite i saw at SEMA this year, it actually had a switch to change the hinge from standard to virtical. i dont remember the co name but ill get it for ya:dsm:

a stage 2 turbo and i would be faster and not have to pay for it in insurance

I know this is off topic, but a friend of mine who works for All State says that you do have to tell insurance companies about adding a turbocharger. If you don't and you have a claim, they can choose not to honor it because the car is altered and not the same car that they agreed to insure. Maybe he's wrong, but I just wanted to let you know.

that's only if it's a model difference. If you add a turbo to a kia rio, there is no responisibility on your part to tell them. I would however keep your receipts and proof that you had your turbo, incase you get in a wreck or the car gets stolen you can get a little money for it. But in ourcase, the 'turbo' is more a model change in their system. Telling them you have an rs instead of a gsx can get ya into some trouble.

cleotis, why in the hell did you post in this thread, it was over a year old and if you do a search there are already many many other threads about vertical doors.

There is a lesson to be learned:

Don't be a ricer :)

That's why they say,

"If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

P.S. I must lock this since there are not CS issues allowed in the forums.
