How many of you have them? How long have you used it? What is the quality like? Does it sound and perform similarly to a real ssqv?

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use a knock off on such an important part of your car. Hell, you should not use a knock off on any part of your car but things like BoV and Waste gate is one of those area's that if something fails then you could be screwed. Is saving $100 worth risking a more expensive engine build?

What happens if the waste gate never opens? If the BoV leaks and stays open causing you to over rev the turbo to maintain a lower PSI level.

Knock offs are cheap reverse engineered parts with inferior construction and materials. Instead, by the real thing and get the R&D and the warranty that comes with it. Racing is not cheap and it gets even more expensive when you waste your money on Knock Off BS that you later have to replace with the real thing costing you even more money.

Dont forget to reserc your BoV while you are at it.

I understand, but I was asking for people that have actually used it. I usually don't use knockoff anything. In fact I am giong to be using a real HKS wastegate. I just don't how the real piece can be four or five times the price of the knockoff. I highly doubt that it uses four or five times better materials. I can justify paying so much for a stinking blowoff valve when I could easily keep my modified 1g (external boost reference added with a WOT switched solenoid). I am going to use the knockoff HKS, I already ordered it. I just want an idea of what people have ACTUALLY seen out of them.

Cheap parts like imitation silicone diaphragms that blow out with any pressure over 20psi.

Been there.

I cant speak for the ssq but have the knock off greddy and it has worked fine for me. Does not leak at 25psi.

My knockoff worked perfectly for a long time. It sounds just like the original and performs just as well. Problem is, about four months ago I noticed my spool up began to suffer. First thing I did was boost leak test it. I found out that the leak was coming from the bov. It didn't hold pressure anymore, and after taking it apart I found out that there is a small plastic ring that is supposed to seal under low boost conditions that had broken.

So, I spent about $54 bucks for it and it lasted for like two years. Not too bad considering I couldn't afford the real one at that time. I now have the real SSQV 2nd version.

Oh, almost forgot, I ran 25psi with this bov consistently before it broke.
