Just curious if anyone else has had a problem with this turbo? I bought mine from Street Tuned Motorsports in January and already it's toast......The turbo has seen less than 2000 miles.
I have to wait until tomorrow to give them a ring hopefully they can warranty it. This bad mother has a 12 month warranty.

Makes me a bit nervous, as I have the same one coming in the mail from STM.

I'm going to give them a ring today so hopefully I can warranty it. Lets find out. Sucks the turbo was awesome. Showing no signs of wear or anything. Just all of a sudden it touched down. :(

Ours gave up the ghost after about the same mileage. Maybe 6 months. Then the rebuild ate itself in less than 5 miles.

The new one is doing ok, but only has 40 miles on it.

i dont want to post hearsay without any hands on facts, but over the time that ive been on the site, the most failed 50trims ive heard of have been the kinetc/slowboy. A lot of people remember the days of the pte 270* thrust bearring turbos that failed a lot, but then they switched to 360* bearrings and the problem went away.

any 50 trim that was not from Garrett has had a high probability of failure on DSM's for some reason. I had two turbonetic ones fail in less than a month. In contrast, I've never had a mitsu fail on me.

Jesus. It seams I may have to just skip all the BS and go to a Big garret or a Big Borg warner. I'm sick of dealing with blown turbos that are brand new. My Ebay 16g has outlasted my Kintetic 50 trim

It seems the turbonetics CHRA epidemic may be resurfacing with these Kinetic turbos. Goodluck and keep us posted on your results.

i'm hoping to keep a 60 psi minimum from the oil filter housing

there is a warranty on these turbos, correct?

according to kinetic's website, they are full 360 degree bearings in the chra, and are supposidly garrett chra's

i'm having second thoughts with this now

Do you guys think I can send it out to get the chra balanced...or whatever that process is? I heard somewhere on here that it doesn't cost too much.

Ya depending on where you got the turbo from. I have yet to try and warranty mine.

My feed line and my return line are both great. Return line is a -10 line and my feed line is a -4 from the oil filter housing..

Anybody have any input on what I should do with the turbo? Should I just return it? I'd rather keep it and then possibly have it sent out somewhere to have it checked out...CHRA balanced...etc
