K&N FIPK? [Merged 9-7] intake filter adapter kn

What is a good site online, that I can good a good price on a K&N FIPK for my car?

Turns out they do have a replacement filter. I just didn't know where to look in the catalog.

I ordered it for 50 bucks out-the-door from a local speed shop..
Probably could have gotten it cheaper if I buy it online

YOu did know that K&N filters are CLEANABLE!!! which means you spend 8 bucks for the cleaner kit and you have a brand new filter

u can get the cleaner at pepboys, autozone, napa, etc.

that is the whole POINT of the K&N... it is suposed to outlast your car... so unless it fell off...


and you ran it over...

I do have the cleaning kit, and have cleaned it before.

I guess I forgot to mention that I got a small hole and some burnt marks on the old filter. I don't know what the previous owner did to the filter to cause that damage.

I have been thinking for the longest time to patch it, but I figure I will just get a new filter. Thanks guys.. I hope the new filter ( when it arrived ) will be the correct size!

i have a K&N FIPK. so i dont want to spend the money on a filter and shit. will it fit ? i have heard rumor the filter is too big and wont fit on an injen intake!? can anyone verify this? i have heard it fits and that it doesnt.

it has to fit, the filter bolts to one end of your MAS, and the injen pipe bolts to the other end of the MAS, so...

It should fit. I think dejontool makes a product that will benefit more in the future than an injen pipe for less money though. (the injen is basically for the t25/t28/16g variants, for a bigger turbo you'll need a bigger intake pipe)

i wont have a bigger turbo and fmic for like another year or more so im not too worried. ill just sell it. ill probably go with a Cold air intake once i got a fmic and bigger turbo. but i see someone else make a 3" intake identical to the injen but not polished, and 4 more dollars. maybe ill go with that too. who knows. but my question was answered. thanks,

already answered.. but yea it should fit.. i dont know why it wouldnt.. the filter bolts up to the end of the MAS so i wouldnt see why it wouldnt unless ur not running MAS.. as for the injen.. i'd go with a dejon tool intake pipe or something.. 3"..

From what I have heard (talk to LArryd, he is an Injen sponsor), the FIPK won't fit on the Injen Pipe because the filter itself is too long or something like that.

Wait until someone who has BOTH posts, and then go from there.

word, that is exactly what i heard. to those of you who said you have it done, was it a very tight fit? any problems gettin the filter back on ?

I had a knn and then i got an injen pipe. Don't fit well, filter was jammed in there. Injen pipe makes every thing sit higher and closer to the fender.

maybe ill go with the dejon or ill just go with a used injen. so did it fit with some effort and a bunch of cursing or just wasnt happeing at all ?

So take off your injen pipe, sell it to someone for 100 bux, and put on a Dejon tool pipe and your K&N FIPK....then you're all set.

I was looking at getting the K&N filter and injen intake. I have seen many pictures of this setup on members 2g DSM's. Is it a good fit or not?

i only really wanted the injen for the bling factor . but ill have to settle for the dejon tool i guess. unless people with this set up come on and say it works.

i believe dejon has a pipe with a slight chome finish. iono i bought mine a year ago at least. things might have change.

yea its called almost chrome. i have a red dejon upper ic pipe. i may go with all red dejon pipes then to equal everything out. i also have a red valve cover. dont want too much red though because i have red hoses. i should decide a color scheme here huh ? any suggestions?

Its a necessity. Its better than the HKS because the HKS has tendacy to rip (its foam), also wont flow as well.The only other kit I like is the Apex filter kit, but its very expensive.
