Dang! $20k of free money to blow on a car. .. in which you'll never get it back. Major rare lucky and something that rarely happens!

I'd put $15k of that away in a bank for your future since that DSM won't be there when that time comes where it will benefit you the most!

Be smart...(you shouldn't have posted about this in this forum, for you're gonna get a lot of responses that you may not want to read...) .. and delete this post.

LOL but dsm is right.

i would slowly drop money in as needed and save half

..and while his g'pa stays alive, this dude gets $10k/year for doing nothing!

Rant on:

And I just lost my job due to economic situations and poor management at a place that I've been for 15 plus years being a dedicated employee - thinking that I had job security - and I don't get a handout like this ....

Rant off:

haha there is no way im gonna blow it all on the car, just wanting to get a good build going and then save the rest. Looking for a fun spirited driver and i do all my own work anyway so labor is just time to me. im sorry to hear about you getting laid off, my dad was laid off for a year from a company he worked for for 20 years and just now got a job, unfortunately that job pays 15$ less an hour so they are struggling too. No one has said anything about the mods yet though

Yea, thx for I just did pick up another lead to get back into the workforce. It was how your post was worded that looked like that major dough was going to be gone all at once.

If the tires/rims are good for now, I'd leave them til last along with the suspension mods.

the tires are shot they are on the stock snowflakes too, there is literally like 25% tread haha, and i didnt want to waste money on new tires when i know i want new rims in the future too so i figured get them both now and end the worries. i dont want to blow this by any means, just trying to make it fun and im not sure my e316g will be as much fun as im wanting!

Don't blow that money on the car, get all the maintenance done and then I would say dsmlink and maybe the fuel system if you can run E85.

That is a ton of money and in the future you will have yourself for spending on a DSM. If anything I would buy a newer car if you really need some wheels.

not looking to max out the hx35 im looking for a solid 375-400whp. Dont want to push it TOO much. Also id use the e85 with the e316g but i dont think those injectors would be big enough to run e85 on the hx35

If your gonna do something and the have the money to do it right then do it right, build the motor and the trans. There is no point putting mods on your car if you can't plant the power to the ground, also save yourself some money and looked for some of the stuff used. I paid almost $800 for my Carbon Ti after everything was said and done and I saw one in perfect condition for $300 shipped in the classifieds the other day.. Its amazing how people can get so ahead of themselves whent hey fall into a chunk of money. GL

And Motegi's suck, they're heavy junk.. Also spend more money on a better FMIC, if your gonne be running a 500+hp turbo I wouldn't go cheap on that

I also don't know why you want to run a HX35 of you only wanna make 375-400whp..

oh i will be going the used route for some things, i bought the exhaust i have now used for 250 in last august and it has already blown out the rear, the tranny has a stage an upgraded clutch and flywheel, 375-400whp isnt going to blow the engine or tranny i know what these are capable of, sure it will lessen the life but when it does blow then i will build myself the new engine.

and i want the hx35 because of the price, low spool, and potential for higher hp down the road. What turbo would you recommend, thats out of the range of an evo 3. Atleast for a daily driver.

and as for the motegis i like the style of them and idc so much about weight, its not a track car. the car is going to be black with red contrasts and those rims are perfect for what i am wanting

Don't waste on the car! Save it for a down payment on a house man. I've pissed money away and I have other friends that have pissed court settlements away on cars and other bullshit. A house keeps its value man save for your future. Please take this advice.

haha house is payed for in full by the good ol government! Set to join the army as soon as im done with college. My fiance is all for it too!

Well we lived different lives. I had join the army to even think about affording college. My grandparents were in no way in a place to hand money away and my own parents could barely keep the bills in check. I remember living through some hardships when only one parent could keep from being laid off from jobs. My first car was a '89 chevy celebrity with blue and spray painted black paint i bought from a junkyard for $500 to get to work.

Dude I'd save a nice portion of that for a future investment like a house or college. Blowing money on a dsm can be fun but I know first hand that you think about how much you've blown later on down the line. It's pretty cool to have a Grandpa that would look out for you like that, may God be with him. And since your grandpa nor your dsm is going anywhere anytime soon, why not just take your time with modding it?

there really isnt that much stuff there to be honest, perhaps the suspension doesnt need to happen but the exhaust has to (my current one is blown) the link and fuel need to be there to increase the fun, and the hx35 doesnt have to happen now but if i want to in the future it would be nice. I do all my work and tell this point have payed for everything on my own. most of this money will be saved but im thinking of spending 5-6k total and call it good. After that it will all be maintenance and repairs.

Yeah take your time modding your grandpa. LOL

Sorry I had to haha.

What a very nice man he must be. Invest in BP! I hear the stock is VERY cheap right now :)
