So i raced my girlfriend last night and her car still seems just as fast if not a little faster than mine.
She drives a 97 gst auto with t25 at 13psi all stock except for intake and cat back exhaust..

My car 97 gsx manual, 14b ported at 11psi, 1g head, ported 2g exhaust manifold, working cyclone, base timing set at 5* with basicly all hard ic piping, and apex exhaust, act flywheel, type s bov

now just from my list compared to hers, you would think i would just pull away from her like nothing, but that is not the case. WTF i know that the gst weighs less but come on now, is it that much less that she can do this.

She also doesn't lose boost when she shifts, she's also running higher boost, and is lighter than yours and I also believe FWD have a better gear ratio but don't quote me on that.

Or maybe you just need a driver mod.

First, the obligatory "street racing is a no-no" comment.

Second, the GST picks up faster from a roll because of less drivetrain resistance.

I'd take a 14b at 11psi over a T25 at 13psi anyday. The reason lies in the drivetrains; both the amount of wheels turning and the method of shifting.

Why don't you stop being a sally and put the 14b up to 16 or 17psi. Shift around 6k rpm and do a boost leak test.

Yeah I'm in the same boat of finding out how much pigs 2g gsx's are. Almost no fun until you make some real power. HOWEVER, you should be at least a 13.99 in the quarter, and she would be no where near that. So you have a problem on your hands.

:notgood: I disagree. If the gst had his mods then maybe.

Lack of fuel support mods could be a hold up.

:dsm:

I had a tst fwd with at 17psi on stock injectors no problem, 14b, hard pipes, 1g crushed bov, dp, exhaust, intake. That was an easy high 13sec car. If it was awd, then no way.

No driver mod needed i also have a short shifter so it doesnt take as long to shift but is slightly more difficult since the counter weight has been cut off.

Well i shifted higher than that since i do have the 1g head and it pulls great so i can go above six. Boost leak test i'll do but i dont think thats the problem. Fuel is the reason that the boost is still low but either way the 14b flows way more air than the t25.

Trust me I don't make a habit out of it. I just wanted to see how my car compared against hers. And the fact that she is still up there, I may have to wait till i put her 14b on ROFL

Ohhhhhh... there's so much wrong with this thread. So so much.
