2G Intercooler sizing for 200 whp

I have a stock block / stock turbo / stock boost system car that I autocross, and the rules for my class have been updated to allow intercooler swaps this year. No piping changes are allowed, so it needs to stay as a side mount.
The OEM is 8x7x2.5, looks like I have space to fit a custom intercooler that is also 8x7 but can be up to 6" thick.

Should I try to make it as large as possible or not? Even on an optimistic Dyno this car is unlikely to be much over 200whp.

The only changes that have been done to the car that could affect boost are a tubular O2 housing with the wastegate path welded half shut and a 2.5" downpipe to high flow cat that dumps underneath the car just past the driver.

Well when i did my TR8 on my T25 the only thing i noticed was a smidge slower spool time over the side mount so going bigger side mount would keep that to a minimum, there was a supra sidemount FS here recently and is a prime sidemount upgrade so maybe check that out

I would consider going with a Dejon or Hahn sidemount, but I really don't think you'll see any benefit for anything bigger at your power level.

You can make 200WHP on the stock intercooler no problem.

Id go with a supra side mount, Its cheap and works well.

Well, judging by the fact the car came with 205 ho from the factory... I think you are fine as it sits.

Personally, I would upgrade intercooler, do what I could with the piping, and turn up the T25.. (or even drop in a t28, super stealth mode) and shoot for 300 useable horsepower.

Yea I don't really see it buying you anything by upgrading. Autox runs are so short, you can just soak the stock core with some ice water before each run if you wanted to keep it from heating up too much.
