Well i did the free mod on my 2g where you take the tube out of the stock intake pipe that blocks the air flow... my Q is it changed the sound of my greddy type-s quite a bit... if i let it off under 8psi about it still the high pitch squeal but when under full throttle all i hear is a little puff/spray i actually can hardly hear it over 10psi just a slight puff sound... is this normal???

Correct. Make sure it's the silver aluminum one. Got mine for $40 off Craigslist.
I was skipping around in a different thread and they were saying something about how they just used the two screws as a clamp and how another guy was saying something about worrying if it would blow off. Did you have that problem?

No idk what they're talking about. It mounts exactly the same as the stocker. If you plan on keeping the stock piping for awhile get one. You can always sell it later on classifieds. Hold out to find one for less than $50. Check CL (evo parts), eBay, evo forums and definitely post a wtb here.

The 2g DSM has a garret t25 turbo as the stocker. Mitsu 16g in all forms is the most popular upgrade. I'm not saying you don't have a 16g, just clarifying. If you're running a 16g however you should be using a larger, usually front mount, intercooler which has different piping flanged to either a 1g, GReddy, or HKS bov depending on the brand. Keep this in mind.

Will keep an eye out for that and I do have the 16g turbo. That guy I bought the car from said he replaced the old turbo with a new 16g turbo which is running off the side mount intercooler and the stock airbox. Is that a bad thing? Would you recommend me getting a front mount intercooler?

I have MHI Evo3 16G with stock side mount. Is it great? No. How long I have been driving like that? I dont know 1 and 1/2 years. How much boost you ask? For a year about 22 and now 20. SO no you dont need a front mount but it would probably be better if you get one. I have one just in my basement.

I would suggest you put yours on though since you're running more boost :idontknow:

Eventually. Their is more to it then just putting it on. Need to relocate oil and power steering coolers. Need to relocate/modify ac fan. Need to bend ac lines. Need to relocate coolant over flow container. Need to make sure the car dont overheat. And the best of it all need to find motivation.

Fair enough haha. I haven't done it myself yet but it does seem like a challenge that you will have to have a lot of motivation for.
