Does anyone know if I adjust the intake cam degree I would need to re-adjust my ignition timing? The CAS is mounted on the intake cam. Before I made any adjustments on the cams, I wasn't getting any knock. After 9 deg advance on intake, I was getting huge amount of knock (43 counts of knock). I reduced the advance on intake cam to 5 deg and seems like doesn't knock as much. The ignition timing is set at 5 deg base. I know if you advance to more than 7 deg, you'll get knock. I didn't physically move the CAS, but you guys think the intake adjustable cam gear can advance it from inside. Thanks.
Road Race knows their sh*t. The reason they told me the ignition won't change because I forgot to tell them that I have a 1g. They are telling me adj cam on intake won't change ignition base timing because 98-99 2g's (majority of their customers) mount their CAS nearby the crank pulley. You can adjust intake cam on 2g all you want and still won't change any values on the CAS, but this is not the case with 1g. Hopefully this will become helpful to someone in the future. Thanks.
