ECMlink Installing zeitronix gauge directly to GM flexfuel sensor? ECMlink flexfuel setup.

Is there a easy way to display with a gauge straight from the flex fuel sensor? Can I simply wire the gauge to ignition hot and to the GM flex fuel sensor wire? Looking to get a ethanol readout without needing the laptop in the car. Thanks.

Not sure what exactly are you asking.
If you already have a GM Flex Fuel Sensor it looks like you can use the Zeitronix ECA to display the fuel content. The GM sensor outputs a variable frequency rather than an analog signal level so it's not directly compatible to a simple gauge.

If you are ok at coding and have a little time, you could do it with an arduino for a bit less... Zeitronix makes a gauge version. Its actually really nice. If time is more valuable than money, I would go that route. When my money was more valuable than my time I did the arduino thing.

Boost gauge died, so I run this for now, two birdies one stone.

The gauge is nice yes, but you still have to by the ECA box to go with it so it costs more. So I'm just gonna stick with the ECA that has the readout on it.

Thought id bring this back from the dead instead of starting a new thread, Did you tap into the gm flex fuel sensor and wired it into the ECA and how are the reading between the gauge and what shows up on link?

I haven't done anything with it yet. At the moment I'm just installing the laptop to get the content readout.

Ah, I see, well I ordered the ECA and gauge. Going to tap it into the gm flex fuel sensor. And see how everything goes. The parts will arrive next week so I'll update this post when it's done.

Haven't gotten to installing it yet, replaced clutch and when I was lifting the transmission up to bolt it to the mount (transmission is already on the engine) the drivers side motor mount snapped, replaced it, got everything bolted up, drove the car. Made a thumping noise. Jacked up all 4 wheels. Threw it in first and looked like drivers side axle was wobbling so I'm assuming the engine landed on the axle when the mount broke, intermediate shaft looked like it was spinning straight though, ordered the axle. Won't arrive until tomorrow so yea, that's what I've been dealing with. That's why I haven't updated on this subject yet.

Hey guys. Sorry for the super late response. To give the short and sweet answer. Yes you can use 1 GM flex fuel sensor and run both the zeitronix gauge and and have it log into ecm link. And it's definitely accurate. I had my tuner install and wire it up as I was already fed up with having to deal with the other problems I dealt with. I didn't want to test my patience with wiring. But yea, it works.
