First a quick backstory.

I bought a set of FIC 1000cc hiz injectors for my GVR4 some years ago. Needless to say life got in the way and the injectors sat for a couple years before I was able to install them. Once I got them installed I found they were all stuck closed. I was able to get three of the working but the fourth wouldn't budge. I pulled them and sent them back to FIC to be cleaned.

I've finally gotten around to getting the car running and am working on the tune.

I am new to ECMLink so I've been doing a lot of reading here. I think I'm finally getting an understanding on how to use the VE table and have been working on WOT. I was hitting some high VE numbers and started thinking about when I had the injectors cleaned.

I attached pics of the inj flow rates when new and after the cleaning. After the cleaning they appear to flow more than when they were new.

So here's my question: Should I adjust the injbattadj table to reflect the flowrate change of the injectors? When new they were flowing 880cc/min, after the cleaning avg inj flowrate is 948cc/min. If i did my maths right that's roughly a 7% difference.

I'll let one of the speed density guys take this but I don't think you want to use injbattadj table to reflect the injector flowrate changes. That's for the dialing it the injector deadtime per voltage. While that does change the resulting flow it's nonlinear based on injector pulse width. Deadtime it a larger percent of the total at short IPW (idle) than long IPW (WOT).

One of the issues I have with SD is until you have solid data from/for your fuel system everything you do effects the VE map since your tuning it based on the end result. If the flow/deadtime is off your VE map will be tilted to account for it.

With a MAF that you can considered calibrated you can dial both in based of how well your target AFR matches the actual at idle vs higher RPMs. With SD you have at least three interdependent variables that are unknown without some calibration.

From what little I understand what your VE map looks like doesn't matter as long as it works and your actual AFR matches what your target was.

Of course this might just be me not understanding SD Tuning. :)
 
Why? If you look at the sheet the injectors originally came with, as you change the fuel pressure the flow rate changes and the time for the injectors changes along with it. Isn't this a similar condition?
The sheet i got with the injectors when they came back from FIC says they are flowing more at 43.5psi then they were when they were new.
 
It is BATTERY voltage offsets for the fuel injectors actual voltages and offsets for when the fans come on for me. I use that table and utilize it for any draw on the normal charging voltage. Some do, some don't. When my 2 Spals kick on, voltage DROPS and the injectors would like to compensate for that with the battery offsets, in my thoughts. Now I may be completely wrong or have my own way, but it "can" be used.

Sure, once you have everything else dialed in you can correct for the changes caused by changes to the system voltage like you do. But I doubt many understand what it's for, when and how to adjust it.

Prior to V3 you didn't have access to any of the direct access tables/maps unless you fancy'd binary editing code.

Hando, To correct for your new flow rate information adjust the fuel global. Then you will have to adjust your VE table and hopefully bring it in line with what your expecting. If not look at you overall fueling situation and figure out what's off.
