General Identifying EPROM ECU

The guy I bought my '90 tsi parts car gave me this ECU with it. He said its a '90 EPROM, but it has no case. Is there a way to check? What about the ECU that is in the car, is there any visual differences? Thanks!

I know the ECU is an EPROM.....

He gave me just the ECU no case. Im trying to determine from that.

Do a search ("Ctrl f") on Steve's site with the numbers (disregard any lettering) on the white connector of the board. Do that and you'll know what you have.

Man, I didn't realize "Ctrl f" was a difficult concept to grasp

The "6574" indicates it is from a '91-'92 FWD turbo car with a manual transmission and federal emissions. This is a useful thread for future questions like this: How do you tell the differance between a 1g non turbo and 1g turbo ecu?

In my defense there is like 4 different numbered connectors on here, and a couple of them brought me to different ECUs, thats my excuse an im stickin to it! haha I appreciate it fellas

That's an EPROM. If it were a non-EPROM, there wouldn't be a chip to remove.
