Whats the deal with the eprom? I have an eprom ecu out of a Junkyard 92 awd tsi and I have a 90 awd tsi. Now I'm finding out they may not be interchangeable? This is kinda weird, but but being the first model year it is very possible that they changed things going into the later models. Any ideas on what to do?

i don't konw how that diagram would help him compare the 90 ecu to a 91-94 ecu, but owning a 90 tsi before, there are many things they changed after 1990 in the dsm's. Whatch out for, shifter cables, coilpack, o2 sensor etc. These are some items i had trouble getting a hold of bc they were different from the rest of the 1g parts

Congratulations. He didn't ask about the shifter cables, coilpack, 02 sensor, or any of the other things that were different.

He asked about the ECUs. There are two wires that are different, and if you had bothered to look at that link you would see that it tells you what you need to switch.
