The bolt directly to the bottom left of the crank sprocket is leaking profusely. Oil pump cover bolt perhaps? I currently dont have a balance belt on, could not running the balance belt make this leak?

Also im losing my power steering, all of this happened after changing timing belt. (And no it wasnt a new power steering pump as it was working fine with the previously not rebuilt engine. And I ran out of money, but I am buying a new waterpump and PS pump soon enough)

No the shaft itself is still in there the belt broke off before new timing belt went on and the crank bolt will not come off to get the belt on there. Im planning on getting it on or eliminating the shafts all together in due time. So the Oil Filter housing bolt is leaking like crazy all of the sudden is that a replaceable part on its own or do I need a new oil filter housing?

What do you mean the crank bolt wont come off?

(Guarantee if you wedge a 1/2" breaker bar on it securly up against the control arm and flip the motor once it will break loose)

Disclaimer on the above/Use at your own risk/I'm not responsible if you do it wrong: Use as you see fit, don't be an idiot. That's a dangerous method if you don't know what you're doing. I've done it several times, no problems.

Haha well I cant say it wont come off, Im pretty sure the starter will take it off but I just had a rebuild done and I wasnt too worried about the motor shaking a little more(which it is actually barely noticeable) I have bad luck and if the bolt doesnt want to come off Im going to wait for an air wrench to try it next. But to my question would leaving the balance belt off cause the oil filter housing bolt to leak? If so can I just replace the bolt or do I have to get an entirely new oil filter housing?

I'm not sure but i would assume it would it could increase the risk of the oil leak there due to higher oil pressure throught the system. I would get a BSE kit asap and for the meantime take out that bolt, put some teflon on the bolt, and pu it back on. If you can't take the bolt out by hand, i suggest you use a hammer, it might sound funny but it's a proven way to take off hard bolts, i used this method to take off my o2 housing and bolt it back up as well. Good luck.

Alright thanks dsmj I'll give that a shot. The increased oil pressure could actually result in the leaks that have started so good diagnosis there :applause: Anyone know where I could pick up a new bolt for it?

Alright so Ill check into cleaning it up first and does anyone know if there is a gasket/washer with that bolt? If I cant get it working Ill get ahold of jnz.
