Today I noticed what I'd call a creaking sound coming from the front right wheel well. I have not had the chance to get the car up in the air yet. Was hoping someone could give me a clue as to what it might be and if the car is alright to drive.

This creaking sound takes place when the steering wheel is moved while the car is both stationary and moving, as well as when going over bumps in the road/parking garage.

What I currently know: -Power Steering Fluid is full

well being it happens when steering id check the tierod ends and steering rack where the colum meets the rack and go from there

Inspect the lower ball joint/control arms for wear. That sounds like the joint is of grease and it now metal on metal.

I'm worried that it is in fact the ball joint. This car is my daily and I absolutely need it the next two days for classes. Going to have to figure something out.

Which do you value more, getting to class of your life. I wouldn't drive it until it is replaced. If it separates and you are going any kind of speed than you will loose control of the car and likely wreck.

I am having the same issue I believe. Makes the same noise pretty much as soon as the cars starts moving. I replaced the control arm (my problem is front drivers side) on the right, the curved one, because the end had some play in it I could feel with my hands. But the noise is still there as soon as I move it...Can someone refer me to the ball joint replacement thread please?

just take the front driverside apart and take a look at ## joints and the bushing on ## control arms, the joints should have a tight feel to them and make sure they have grease, if the bushings on ## arms r broken u can ether buy new bushings or just get a whole new arm.. ether way if ## joints are shot ## going to have to replace the arm to wich it gos to. for the nuts on the joint u will need a 7/8 wrench, hammer or roubber malet, 17mm socket and wrench, and that should be it... thats if the front end on ## dsm is anything close to my talon

I got the car up in the air today. Everything on the passenger side looks fine....yet I swear that 's where the sound is coming from.

Upon inspecting the drivers side, I noticed that I can "tilt" my wheel so to speak. The ball joints and everything else seemed okay though. I'm thinking the wheel bearing is either loose or shot.

I also noticed that my water pump is leaking :(

Your wheel bearings don't make that sound. Its either the ball joint on your lower control arm (the curvy one) or your lower lateral arm the (striate one). Jack the car back up grab each one and pull down if they move they're bad. Or you can poke a whole and spray lithium grease in the boots one at a time until the noise stops indicating the bad ball joint. Let us know whats up.

Is the cv joint the large boot going directly in the center of the wheel? I replaced the control arm on the right, the curved one, which had some play in it but i still have another noise. I believe its that part in the boot. And its gonna be a pain to fix i think...help please!!
