I just got a Big 16G, what do I need for stock boost?

I just got a new ported Big 16 G with the 2g install kit. I just want to run stock boost on it for now, but what upgrades do I need just to run for stock boost?

My mods are Evo III 02 Housing, 3in dp, 3in HKS exhaust, 18 Greddy fmic, upper and lower IC piping, 1G uncrushed bov, and going to put in Evo III ported exhaust mani with the turbo. No MBC, just want to run stock boost.

I want to throw it on this weekened but I want to know if I need any neccessary upgrades. Thanks
 
You will need a j pipe and a MBC. set the mbc to 14-16psi. should hold strong. id start with 14psi just to be safe though.
 
how about you start with an evo VIII fuel pump with a rewire kit if you dont want to upgrade injectors yet.
 
Really? Ok cool. And yes Verge I am getting an Evo 8 fuel pump with the re-wire kit, your the one I'm buying it from haha. Do I absolutely need an MBC or can I just hook up the vacumn lines how the stock set up was? I heard the Big 16 G wastegate is set to 18 psi. Is that why I need a MBC? And yes the J-pipe is included with the 2g install kit. I already have IC piping, how do I connect the J-pipe to the lower intercooler pipe? A curved coupler? 90 degree small pipe? Thanks

You could spend the time to make your own or do like i did and buy a MBC on ebay for like 40 bucks. mine was from dejon pwerhouse it was used but well worth the 41 bucks it cost me after shipping.

If your WGA is 18psi (research that number to make sure), you're probably going to run out of fuel. You can not run boost lower than the WGA actuation pressure. 18psi seems high to me, but if that's what it is, you might be able to get another WGA with lower actuation pressure. Since you have the turbo in hand, use a pressure tester on the WGA nipple and with the WGA fully installed on the turbo and preloaded, find out what pressure causes the arm to fully extend (don't go too high - maybe 20psi - or you could blow the diaphragm). Then you'll know for sure.

If your j-pipe doesn't have a nipple for the MBC yet, you need to add that. Don't tee into the BOV line. Do it right.

If the WGA actuation pressure is at or a bit above stock boost (at or above about 12psi), just run a vaccuum line straight from the j-pipe nipple to the WGA...no MBC needed...and you'll boost at the WGA pressure.

Didn't look at your profile, but make sure you have a logger and aftermarket boost gauge.
