I went to look at a 1990 gsx and i took it for a test drive and here are the problems. You have to push the clutch the whole way to the floor to shift or it will grind the gears and also it feels weird compaired to my 94 gs. The oil pan has a leak because it has a small crack in it, and also the bell housing on the transmission has a hairline crack that goes about 2-3 inches. I know that the crack in the oil pan can be welded so that is not much of a problem. But does anyone know about the clutch and or the crack on the bell housing?

The crack in the housing could be causing the tranny to flex when the clutch is engaged. Or the clutch peddle just needs adjusted. Anyways it could be many things. Sometimes the bell housing can be rewelded.

I always thought or read that adjusting the pedal was masking the real problem . Could be the slave cylinder , low fluid , air in system , bad clutch .
