2G I got Lied to about MY HLAs...!! ARGH!!

So I was told that my Head had 3d Gen HLAs..... And what I got was this... Top 13 are 2nd Gen HLAs Bottom 2 are 3RD GEN... and the LONE ONE to the Right is a SOLE 1st Gen HLA.... ANOTHER ISSUE but nothing that cant be fixed but UGHHHHH...

So technically it does have 3rd gen. S/he just failed to mention there were only two. What a POS. Although, I've noticed that 2nd gen vary from car to car. Some are noisy, others are quiet as a church mouse. I used these, or you can get topline for <$100

honestly i have never gotten around to using the 3rd gens. heck i just put a new set of 2nd gens in my current head a couple months ago. if your lifters are sticking stop running crap oil and filters.

it is frustrating that your were sold something other than what they told you though. and as they do not match, you would want to buy a full set anyways. i have never been the type of person to mix old and new. if one lifter, guide, spring, ect, is out of spec i replace the parts in a batch.

That's why I offer pennies on the dollar for used car parts. Literally half the stuff I've ever bought was less than advertised. When I was buying a lot of used parts I often had to spend extra money correcting whatever deficiency the part had.

And this is why I'm scared to buy a used turbo. One of my buddies bought an exhaust manifold to turbo for his MR2 and the flanges were so out of shape we couldn't get it to bolt to the engine. Then he had to eat the shipping cost to ship it back. I have been looking for decent shocks for my car for a minute, I am pretty sure I will end up just ponying up for some koni's with a lifetime warranty.

I just bought a set of these EXACT kind... but from different vendor but had 88 sold and 100% satisfaction but yeah like 2 days ago.. Thanks for the info though.. yeah it sucks I have 13 2nd gen now but idk if I can sell them since not a full set. but I may keep them for working on another head and just using them to fill spots to line stuff up idk or sell them as extras for someone..

Does anyone use 2nd gen since they know 3rd gen are lil better design or are 2nd gen cheaper idk.. but once I know I wont ask thanks guys

Some parts you just have to BUY NEW unless ur willing to Trust someone you don't know over a part THEY are trying to get rid of.. OF COURSE IT WORKS GREAT and NOTHING EVER HAS GONE WRONG WITH IT.... Certain parts ill take used.. OTHERS nope just wont do it.. and SUSPENSION nope all brand new.. I wanna know my life is controlled by me and not a lie that breaks mid race or on highway.. so yerp.
