So a while back my car (98 talon NT) starting running really rough on the way home, just idles and revs jumping all over the place, I assume this is where the cyl 1 misfire started at. I got it home and parked it and left it there for a couple weeks. Started it to show a friend what it was doing . Had a lot of stuff going on (family in hospital) and another car so I let it sit there for about 3 months. Now I am trying to fix it, I ordered a code reader and it came up with p0301, misfire in cylinder one. That wouldn't be such a problem, except now the car won't start at all, it will crank but won't actually start and turn over. So seems like i have two separate problems here, a simple misfire shouldn't cause this. I have changed the plugs, and checked for spark (none). I checked all the fuses as well. Anyone have any idea?

The reason your car isn't starting is because it's not getting spark. I would replace your coilpack and see if that fixes the problem. :)

I had a problem like this a while back with my car apparantly my cranks sensor went out and it wouldn't spark either but that was a year ago so my memory may be spotty.....but I wasn't getting spark either even from the coil packs
