hx35 turbo oil return line

does anyone know the size of oil return line i need for the hotset hx35 with bep hotside???? iv looked all over and either iv been missing it or just cant find with. thanks for the help

iv looked threw them but i probabl just read over it or missed it. and i contacted bullseye and asked the same question and bill from there and he said #10 so idk. this is confusing as all hell

people say you need a -12 but I have a -10 welded onto the pan and havent had an issues yet. I have about 3k miles of 30+ lbs and about 20-25 passes down the track.

very nice..... kinda what i understood is -10 will work but -12 would be better am i right? i appreciate all the help guys. and another thing i was wondering if i order and drain line off extremepsi with the holset fitting is that the right size or is it just a -10????

-12an. But I run a -10an and I get occational smoke on decel before and after bottomend rebuild. Started after the turbo swap from 16g to holset cause has to be small oil drain backing up and pushing through seals and into exhaust.

We went with 12an on Adam's HX40 setup. Drilled out the pan as the factory opening isn't 19mm or larger as Holset recommends. Welded a 12an male to the pan and another to a flange for the turbo side.

-10an can get you by but you really need to go with a -12AN. Holset specs 19mm for their drains as per stated in the link above.

You'll need to source out the parts and as Jesse said, enlarge the hole in the pan which when done properly requires it's removal. Not to mention, you will still be able to run any other size line with the appropriate adapter fitting at the pan.

Do it right and use a -12 or kinda half ass it with a -10 that is not in spec.

thanks much guys!!!!! you have no idea how much this has helped me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! were can i find a reasonable bung and oil line???? iv looked on extream psi but i have no idea what size the line even is. and the bung for the oil pan i have no clue were to buy.

wow i feel really retarded and thats probably the nicest way put!!!!!! with that link the second to the bottom the one with the pics of the oil line setup. i have that oil line like the bottom pic. i just thought it was too big and could not use it. it never crossed my mind to just weld a new bung. thanks guys for all the help!

You have to get fittings and -12 line and make one. Get the fitting welded on and the turbo bolted in. You might need one straight fitting and one 45, i depends on your manifold. Maybe 2 45*. Good luck.

Bring this back up. For the guys thats running -10an, did you still have to drop the oil pan? I've seen guys using the 2g oil drain and its i.d. is bigger than the 1g i.d. but doesn't it require the 1g oil pan to be modified to fit the 2g flange(bolt holes)? What I'm getting at is there probably isn't a way to get a good oil drain without dropping the pan correct? Last thing, is the hole on the oil pan different sizes from the 1g and 2g since the i.d. is bigger on the 2g oil drain and does anyone know the size of the holes on the pan?

I dont know this for a fact but I just asked a guy who is selling a 2G 7bolt pan to measure the hole and he said it was 5/8" or .625" hope this helps
