Looks busted already..Use heat since it is already busted. The jewlers torch end. And heat it up the balancer around the crank snout. The heat will make the balancer expand. Just be carefull with heat around leaking oil and gaskets and make sure u have a fire extingisher handy.

You can do it one way if you have the tools drill and tap holes into the outer arms of the pulley and use a steering wheel puller plus heat and it should come right off. I did it on my old motor to swap it onto the new one as some one had broken 3 parts of the pulley. A cheap tap and die kit from harbor freight will run about 20$ rent a steering wheel puller from autozone and get some good bolts as their will be a lot of pressure on them.

This is what my good friend said, he's a BMW certified tech and sounds like the best option. The previous post I just took off the fuel rail and injectors, leaky head gasket, crankshaft pos o ring and couple other things so going to try without heat first.

You guys think I should replace that part?

that thing is shot replace it. to pull the old one you are going to have to screw in a longer bot in the center and let it stick out far enough so the puller can remove the pulley . the special too that we use is a 3 jaw puller with a rod that goes inside the hole but a longer bolt also works .

I was thinking to get the 3 jaw one but I'm not sure if there is a lip on that third one.

Does anybody know if I can use a pulley off of a neon because I'm not sure if the local pullapart will have an eclipse and new ones are expensive and don't want to have to spend that money. Also the car was running fine with it like that, so maybe I don't have to replace, the ridges and everything are fine with it.
