How to get biss screw out

Did you try some PB blaster or penetrating lubricant?

Is your screwdriver slipping out of the groove? You can push down on the back with one hand and rotate the handle with the other. If that doesn't work you probably need something like an easy out.

You drill a hole in the center of the piece and turn that backwards in the hole with a T handle. You can get a lot more torque on it.

It doesn't have a locking thread anywhere, so the best way to get it out is with more torque. It won't cost more than $10 at a machine shop if you get frustrated.

Thanks man..I got one more idea tho..You thinkI could get my finger through the butterfly in the tb and push it out with my finger, or is that a closed system and won't work..

Wait, you got it all the way out and now it won't come out the hole? Or the screw just won't turn? You were pretty adamant that the screw wouldn't turn.

If it does turn but won't come out of the hole, you can try to take a paperclip and pop it from the inside, or get a magnet and pull it from the outside. Sometimes I can grab a corner of the screw head with small pliers. Boost will pop it right out, I've lost one that way.

what I did with mine at the time when I had it out was take a small screwdriver or pen, back the screw all the way out and push it out with the pen or screwdriver. pretty easy to get to when the tb is off the car anyways

the biss is solid for the most part--- i used a dremel and drilled in just enough to get the bit embedded into the biss and pulled it out-- worked like a charm

Just pop the TB off and insert a wire hanger from the back side and push it out.

That's the kinda answer I was looking for..Easy and most likely quick..WIll try this one tomarrow..

It's what I needed to do. I did manage to drill a hole into the BISS and get a screw started enough to rotate it out and then pull it. That was with the plastic one and it was getting replaced.

It'll take 2 seconds to pop it out with the wire.

UPDATE.

I found sum weird philleps screw head in my toolbox..I started by trying to take it out, that worked..SO I put it back in and backed it all the way down..Now I'm just waiting for my jumper pack to charge so I can start my car, then see if that did the trick..I might also order another biss screw, anyone know what they cost?

Mines wasnt it was hard i took the tb off and cleaned her up and loosened it out.

I couldn't get the TB off, no hammer it was really stuck on there but I tried..She does need to be cleaned..You think I could spray some carb cleaner in the intake manifold and TB?

I'm having a similar prob. I am putting new shaft seals in and thought I might as well replace the biss oring at the same time. Well the screw won't budge as in turn at all. I even used my impact driver and hammer and it turned about 1/4 turn out and then stripped the whole head off. Anyone ever had to drill one out?

Like stated before, you can take off the tb and then get it off..I would not drill it out that might cause problems..Or you can try an easy out if you want to go the easiest route..

I got it finally. The TB was off the car and the BISS was seized in the TB. It wasn't stuck in the all the way out position it was just stuck, it would not turn at all. After stripping the philips part out even using an impact driver, I then broke my flat head snap on impact driver bit and then i had to drill it out and a combination of more impact driver with another bit. I don't know how it ever got that tight but it was all the way down too it seems. I don't see how the car even idled properly. Well I have to replace it now and then do the vfaq BISS adjustment. (sorry to hyjack the thread). Back to the OP.
