How long till lifters quiet down after HG job?

Hey guys,
I just did a full head gasket and timing belt job this weekend. Started 10pm Saturday and fired her up at 6pm today (Sunday).

Anyway, I put in a new head and bled all the lifters completely down.

Needless to say, they are noisy. How long will it take for them to quiet down? I only have about 5 minutes run time on the new head.

mine took about a week, but out of that week i drove the car 2-3 hours a day

One time it took mine no time, being bleed. The next time it took about 4 hours.

As you can see from the previous posts the time it takes varies from car to car. Just keep driving and the noise will go away. Good luck and hopefully they quiet down soon for ya.

have about 20 mins on it now and they've quieted down a bit. Looks like it will be a bit longer till they're quiet again!!!
