Well because you (as well as me) wish to stop bickering I will honor that and leave you with another agreeance. HP alone is not the only thing to lower ET's like you said (although it can make as a good substitute). Such things as about every drive train component, tires, shifting, weather and hell one of the most important things, seat time all effect it. Proof of this is why DSM-Zero is the highest HP 420a, yet not the quickest, I dont even think he has broke into the 10s yet (not 100% sure on that last part).

I also did notice you did contribute to the thread earlier, I was mainly Raging after I read richard33's post and just started quoting people, which is one of the reasons I lashed out, so I apologize to you for that.

It has nothing to do with n/t eclipses. I had one that went 14.4@98 bone stock with a 75 shot. The original post was so far fetched that I felt I needed to comment. If you have to post about trying to make 250whp all motor, its never going to happen.

For clarification, Bullet is making 218 WHP. This brings the the HP at the Flywheel right around 265-275 after compensating for an average 30% parasitic drivetrain loss. So technically, it's been done....

When are people going to keep their opinion to themselves around here? People ask for advice, not opinions. It's not like guys are going, "Hey, would someone please be a douchebag to me? Please?!?!" They are asking legit questions. There was a time when I knew jack shat and asked more stupid questions than this. I remember when I had discussions of sleeved stroker builds and using Nissan turbos. At least the OP asked about a legit number from a NA 420a.

OP: Stop with the stage 1, stage 2 junk. It is a cheap marketing ploy to make parts sound cooler and to get money from guys who don't know anything. Look for numbers. Real usable numbers, not a generalization of a performance rating that is applied to everything from car parts to video games...

I really don't think he was talking about hp off the crank but I could be mistaken. When people usually say I want XXXhp they wanna throw it on a Dino and hit those numbers. :idontknow: I stick with my original advice to the OP. Do some research first, maybe scan the threads of all motor guys putting out some serious numbers. Then when your armed with more info you can ask specific questions that will warrent more serious answers. I don't know much about the all motor build but first you should probably plan on going to a higher compression piston maybe a 11.5:1 again not totally sure.

Its sooo much easier to upgrade your video game car with stages... Real life sucks.

We also must remember this was a purpose built race car and not something i would consider "streetable" in every day life. So to the OP, unless your goal is a purpose built race car then i would consider a simple turbo build. I'm sure you would be happy with the power increase.

Its Dyno, we are not talking about dinosaurs.

Making big power on a n/a 420a is gonna take big RPM. Your not gonna increase the BMEP by 75%, at most you will probably only get 10-15%. And thats with big compression, and a really really good flowing head.

Its gonna take monsterous cams, an excellent flowing head, ITB's, or a custom intake for a power peak at about 10kRPM. Then your gonna end up with an engine that barely runs below 3krpm, doesn't make any power until 5k, and will have a power peak at about 10k. Unfortunately, your gonna need a killer tranny just to be able to shift it there, Given the fact that the trans is geared for a motor that operates between 1k-6k, you'll never pull good 1/4 et's.

175whp, is probably a better goal. That should be at least somewhat streetable.

I want to build a n/t 4g for a colt. Heres My plan of attack.

1. Build a 2.1 long rod motor 11:1+ compression
2. 6 bolt head with 1mm over valves
3. Kiggly beehives
4. Kelford 280's
5. Big tube header. (2" primarys)
6. 52mm webber DCOE's, and custom adaptors.
7. Probably a MSD dis2 and a 1g cas.
8. Faceplated n/t trans with a Kaaz.

I figure this combo should do about 210-230 crank HP at 8500RPM with a 11k redline. Should be fun in a 1900lb car.

...and we're done.

These sorts of threads always seem to devolve into a "which engine is better" sort of argument.
