How far have you pushed your stock 6bolt Head Bolts?

Was this on the 50trim?
Do you remember how much total timing?

AV gas is a little over 100octane right?

It was on a 57 trim, running a fairly aggressive (1g style) timing curve on a stock 2g block with a stand alone EMD that had no knock sensor at all so if it was detonating it sure didn't show it I was starting at 16* timing as soon as full boost hit (~4k RPM) and then ramping up to 22 by redline

that 30psi i ran on the dyno and a few times on the street even with no knock control had that engine pulling hard!!!!

And yea, av-gas is 100 octane low lead (has some lead but not much) But i stopped running it because the price went through the roof and i had learned that av-gas is formulated to burn in higher elevations some how ( i'm no chemist ) but i read that in several places and used that as another reason to stop running it and look for other fuels...thank got E85 came along

7bolt, pretty impressed:hmm:
It takes some courage to push it like that especially on 93oct. How much timing are you running?

No, I'm on 6 BOLT, last time my car had the 7 bolt was 2005.

I'm running 19 degrees but i never really double checked based timing so who knows EXACTLY where it's at. I played with the cas til the car felt good and then after a few pulls, i bumped the timing across the board in link (+3 or 4).

The car definitely feels really good so it has to be pretty damn close to 19 if not more. I do need to double check the base :shhh:

With the low ass 6 bolt compression, im sure i could turn it up more but im running relatively high boost for pump so ill leave it there. Afr's are in the 10.8-11.0 range up top.

I also have e85 next to me so im debating trying that.

Thats what I meant, the 57trim I remember you running.
Thats pretty aggressive and I bet the car was hauling ass at that level:D

I'm hearing some very impressive numbers from some of the responses. Some have pushed it far more than I would have expected, I was thinking a few guys would say like 24-26psi, but damn in the 30s:sneaky: Obviously it takes a good tune and some hair on your sack

The AV gas is pretty non-existent by me these days. My dad said they used to run it alot back in the 60s and 70s.
That's why some call E85, the fuel of the future. The price is hard to beat as well as the other benefits of it.
I'm hopefully switching at some point next week.

I really would never have done so much bost but for the fact that I didn't care if I lifted my head though. Just to clarify. The stock 6bolt head bolts CAN be pushed to as far as we've done. But a tank of bad gas and a frisky run can leave you stranded very easily. Back then I didn't drive my car more than 3 miles from home.

had a 6 bolt fwd with roughly 60k on the rebuilt motor. stock head bolts, just some bc springs, retainers, and stock cams. 16g on 25lbs, tuned, put down 318hp i believe(gotta find the dyno sheets). good solid tune with none-very little knock. head lifted at about 70k miles. and i drive like a jackass cause i dont give a #### what people think. and plus i needed an excuse to get my 2.4(which never ended up happening). lased almost a whole year. take into consideration though, i never had a turbo timer. i did try as often as possible to sit with the car for a few minutes and then turn it off, but i couldnt do that every time i drove the damn thing LOL:D

I just had my headgasket blow on 6bolt studs. I was running e85 at 30+psi though. I don't know how much power I'm making but with only 1 run I ran a 12.4 at 115 with the car breaking up in 4th. I'm assuming at least 350whp though because when the car was running good I'd be able to keep up with c6 z06's from a roll.
