Oh and also, for 1990-91 all Eclipses with the 2.0 engine, be it n/a or turbo has the power bulge and from 92-94 all Eclipses, from base to GSX all have the power bulge. For 1990-91, only the turbo models came with the spoiler. Only in 1990 did the GSX come with the more shapely front air dam and rear bumper whereas in 1991, both GS Turbo and GSX had identical ground effects. The only way to tell them apart in 1991 was the AWD sticker on the B pillar and the badge on the back with the turbo saying GS and in small letters under it "DOHC 16 Turbo" and the AWD version saying GSX "DOHC 16 Turbo", or looking for the rear differential. For 1990, only turbo models had the whale tail spoiler. For 1991, the GS with 2.0L engine on up to the GSX had the whale tail spoiler. For 92-94, the Eclipse GS with the 2.0L N/A, GS Turbo, and GSX, had the same ground effects and spoilers. The N/A 2.0 ones had the silver bottom two tone paint whereas the GS Turbo and GSX were all one color and the only way to tell them apart is the same as in 1991. Also, for 92-94, the 1.8L models had the lip spoiler optional whereas the 2.0L on up to the GSX had the whale tail spoiler standard. If they have the stock rims, you can tell them apart that way too, but it's hard to describe them here and there were so many variations and switching styles from trim level to trim level and from year to year that I'm not going to get into that. As for the Eagle Talon, all had the power bulge from 1990-91, and the turbo and AWD were identical in looks, just different badging. The base model Talon had the 2.0L engine. For 92-94, all Talons from base to AWD were identical with only badging and wheels to tell them apart, or of course, looking for the rear differential for AWD. I know it's all very confusing and probably only people who really pay attention can tell these cars apart, but that's how DSM did it. :p Now all you guys probably think I have no life.

Actually it is PURELY cosmetic. I've seen a 2G cf hood WITHOUT the bulge. The 2G bulges are STRICTLY Cosmetic.

 youre an idiot.

the bulge on my hood is there for the same reason there's a bulge in my pants: to show it has balls.

If that is the case then explain to me why the AeroGear hoods MUST be cut and modified to fit the Turbo model. A flat hood will not fit on a Turbo 2G without removing the timing belt cover and modifiying the underside of the hood.

It is unique. I can't think of any other cars out there that had a bump like that.

Dodge Duster (3.0 L)
Plymouth Sundance (3.0 L)
Dodge Daytona ( I believe certian model years had it )

Were you drunk when you put that wing on your car:confused:

^^^ for real?
the bump adds character.
i like the bump and my dad had a great idea.
he wants to find an old dsm in a junk yard and get the hood. Have a body shop cut out the bump from the old hood and cut out a hole in the passenger side of my hood and put the bump there. It would have a bump on both sides. I might do this soon.

I have a picture on my computer of an eclipse with the bump on both sides... don't know if he made it himself or had it made or what

oh, and dont forget the dodge neon, the DOHC cars have a power bulge too, does likes power bulges a lot, but anyway, stick with the single bump man, you'll make it look like it has breasts or someting, you'll need a bra....LOL

the original designed power bulge was first put on 1g DSMs(90-94 turbo, and then even the 1.8's got them in 91 or 92 i forget) and it was very functional for the 4g63s,it was for extra room so the hood could clear the timing gear cover. after that they kinda put it on everything, but on the 2g turbos it serves the same function as the 1g bulge.

well we all are fond of the love bump... but the fact is i would rather not have it and have a symetrical hood a little higher over all.... cause i want to put a small naca duct where the intake is and to do it with a car with a bump... well it woudl look odd

ok fine... but then all should be hung who make fun of what the hood will look like with a duct and a bumb.... whatever it will look fine... LOL i actualy am an ardent suporter of the love bump

I have heard bad things about vis... is there anyother good hood, besides squid skins

VIS > *

That's my opinion. I have a Fiber Images, and it ####ing sucks.

i have heard that VIS < Dirt...., or Dirt > Vis > * but i dont have any personal experience.... is it double sided... that is full carbon fiber with cf braces and what not?

I have a Fiber Images hood. Compared to my buddy's VIS, well there is no comparison. VIS quality and fitment > Fiber Images

VIS for all my plugs I'm giving you, how about a free hood? ;)

"THE BUMP" oh the infamous "BUMP" ... I love it! I think it gives the car a personality ... like you know, when you see a dsm cruisin the streets the front of the car just says ...... GET THE F*** OUT THE WAY!!!!
