The cowl is located at the base of the windshield, between the back of the hood and the windshield itself... kinda that whole area where the wipers mount.

Come one guys, everybody knows that the “hump” is called a “POWER BULGE”…

Early 1.8L DSMs did not have it (no need, as 1.8’s did not have DOHC). Starting with ’92 all DSMs had it, even the 1.8’s and "neon engines" with cam gears on the other side)

i'm searching extensively for the perfect forced DSM, and hoping that some little old lady has no idea what her car is, posted it on autotrader with one pic of the exterior as just an "eclipse." my question is what signifigant exterior changes are there in a 1Gt and a 1G n/a...? any input is greatly appriciated.

nope! sorry youre wrong! i have a 1g n/a and it definately has a hood cowl. even the most basic models have the hood cowl.

there is no real way to tell. although most 1g n/a dont have a spoiler unless they put on aftermarket or forked out the extra dough when they 1st bought it. only gst and gsx came with the spoiler stock.

fog lights (for 90-91 i think the 92-94 all had fogs? dont know)

the chick around the corner has a 92 and it has spoiler ground effects and has a hump and is a 1.8, and i also thought that they made the 1990 model with the1.8 only with out the hump, and i had a double tip exhaust and mine is n/t, i think you should just sneak up and look in the window to see a boost gauge

The 1g's with the 1.8L engine for model year 1990-91 didn't have the power bulge on the hood. They only started that on 1992-94 models when all Eclipses received the power bulge along with the fixed headlamps, which sometimes I wish I had. I got my GSX in Feb. 1991 and they came out with the newer style a few months later
