holy shit this tread went crazy. I bought the hood for cheap so i will let you know if it works, if not I will go buy the normal hood.

the car was white and had a 4g63 in it. there are marks on the inside of the hood where the timing belt was rubbing against it. if i cant shim it up, i will just sell it for a bumpy hood

haha halffast.

we were wondering where you went :)

Last point of advice you never requested, put a soft shim about the size of the space you want between the hood and engine on the timing gears. Put a piece of two sided tape on the shim and slowly lower the hood. don't latch it at first, and pick it back up. if the shim sticks to the hood, it won't work. if it doesn't, lower it again and latch it. don't drop it. if it doesn't stick you ahould be fine. I usually do this on older cars with high-rise intakes and different engine swaps and it is a good way. If there is any question whether or not it will work, abandon ship. It isn't worth wiping out a timing belt and lunching a good engine.

I'm done trying to sound important. ;) Have Fun!

That was some important sounding advice actually. My car looks like a junk yard special. Most of the car is red fading paint, broken tail lights, different colored hatch. White hood, purple fender, rust on the opposite fender. 60-1 under the hood. wish me luck

So what are you doin tryin to get the "sleeper" look for???? Sounds like you already have a good start going! LOLROFL I'm just kidding around, not raggin on your car. but how would you follow the earlier advice about painting the CF panels the same color as the body? would you have to easter-egg them too???? :)

biggest thing to remember is go slow. too much of anything at first is bad. HP included, but that's a different soapbox thread altogether. the most important part is to have fun, never stop learning and don't give up. make the most of what you have. I am sure some guys will tell you "sell it and buy XXX fill in the blank." Well not all of us have that option. Do what you can with what you have.

Before the thread gets closed for off-topic, the hood can work if you do it right... LOL

Have fun and thanks for playing along. :)

I'm not worried. I have 4 other motors in my garage. I bought 5 motors for $500 so when i blow them up, i can swap them out like batteries. Hopefully the 1st motor can take 30 psi for a while. e-85 would be nice. we will see
