I have a holset h1c and was wondering how you guys go about hooking it up. The compressor outlet is weird as shit and I think it looks weird with 2.5" piping and a coupler.

I just ordered a H1c and from this site. From what I've understood reading around the site, people are changing the compressor sides with BEP or PTE housings.

If you cut the lip off for the v-band, a 2.5" coupler fits good, you can probably even fit a 2.25 on there. Use a hack saw or reciprocating saw and only cut the lip off; keep just a bit of an edge there and it will help hold the coupler on.

no no, this is wrong information! On the holsets they swap the hotsides (or turbine housings) with the BEP housings, usually for the ease of installation since it bolts directly to the mitshu Turbo mani and o2 housing!
The compressor stays the same, and yes some of them come with v-band flanges that most people just cut off or file down!
I personally would use the v-band by making the other end on the intercooler pipe v-band, then you have no worries about that pipe popping off under full boost!

YOu can grind the v-band lip down and use a coupler, or my preffered solution is to cut the outlet off and weld a cast 90* elbow like sold by turbonetics onto the housing and face it in the direction you want to run your IC pipes

I like just having a silicone coupler that is a 90 degree elbow. Simplest solution.

Easiest solution is to just grind down the v-band section and use a 2.5" 90 degree coupler

I haven't measured the compressor outlet, is that what it is 2.5?
