holset questions

i am going to start building a new motor pretty soon. i want to go with a holset. i have a junkyard right across the street from me. they have a few dodge diesel turbo trucks there. i am going to go see if there is a turbo on them. my question is are they a direct bolt on or do i have to get a new manifold? also ohow do i know which one is which? thanks for the help

There is a whole thread about holset turbos. They are not direct bolt on unless you buy a BEP housing or a new manifold. There is more to it then just buying that turbo and bolting it on.

I agree that it does sound as iff you're asking us to hold your hand through the process. You need to clarify your goal for the car and tell us what parts youre going to choose for your build.
