holset downpipe questions

i have looked alot through holset thread on here and other sights but cannit find my answer. i have a 8 blade hx35 and i am going to use the holset t3 hot side. and was wondering what down pipe adapter to use. i have seen some t3/t4 downpipes that look alot like the back of the holset 5 bolt but not sure if they will work or not

Wow. Why would you use the t3 set. Bullseye makes a housing for the hx-35 that bolts directly to your stock manifold, and upgraded DSM down pipe. Much cheaper.....

Perhaps he wants to utilize the twin scroll setup. You do loose spool if you put a non divided t3 manifold on a divided t3 housing BTW. Just in case you were not aware of that.

Or perhaps he doesn't want to be choked out by using the DSM housing. I am not sure what the outlet looks like on a hx35 but my hx40 is a 4" Vband so that is what I need to use.

The bolt on housing from bulleye is perfect for the hx35 8 blade. Maybe not so much for the 7 blade since it flows much more than the 8 blade. The latter can take advantage of the dsm bolton housings faster spool up without hindering top end. Thus the reason why I went with an 8 blade instead of the 7 blade. I do believe that the hx35 7blade should be mated to a t3 or devided turbine housing.

Op. If you want to use the stock holset twin scroll housing, you will need a twin scroll manifold that is much longer or extends further out. The Holset twin scoll turbine housing is much bulkier and will not fit with a stock length exhaust manifold runners. The holset housing will hit the engine block. You will also or might have to extend the down pipe for it. The same housing uses a V-band style clamp. So you will need to have a v-band flange on your down pipe. Then there is the problem with space if you are still running your stock fans.
It is doable but if you have an 8 blade, I'd personally would go with the dsm bolton housing but thats just me.

I was lookin for the plate that bolts to the back of the holset turbo mine does not have one on it it is open. You know the plate that bolts up with the 5 bolts on the hotside of the turbo for the downpipe. and manifold wise I'm not affraid to. Cut one up and mod it to get what I need . Cut=custom

Yeah, your pretty much gonna have to custom build a dp. There are some vband to dsm downpipe adaptors on ebay, but any manifold that mounts a holset to a 4g63 is gonna put the flange way far from where it needs to be.

so your best bet is to get a holset exhaust plate, a 3" vband connector, and a 3" U bend off ebay. Then cut and weld untill you have your own downpipe and o2 housing that fits.
