Ok so ive been looking around for a new headgasket because i do not know how old the one in my eclipse is. This looks like the most durable so im looking at buying it. Before i do i have a 6 bolt engine and i would like to know the compression ratio i need. Also how hard is it to replace a head gasket? Do i need to pull the motor out or can i replace with motor still in the vehicle? Heres the link to the gasket im looking at.:dsm:

Nice gasket. The HKS is one of the best money can buy.
You can run any of the three listed. If you get the 1.6mm, you will keep your compression ratio the same as it is now. The thinner the HG, the higher the compression ratio will be.

You don't need to remove the entire engine for a head gasket change. You just need to pull the head and anything directly attached to it.

That gasket isn't an MLS? Assuming no warpage you just need to clean to mating surfaces and install... torque to spec?

Quoted from that site:

"HKS metal head gaskets are constructed from multiple layers of steel"

Yes, it's an MLS gasket. Installation procedure of this one is the same for any other MLS gasket.

You will need to get the warpage milled out, preferably both the head and block but you may be able to get by with just getting the head done. I think this is an awesome headgasket but why not cometic or the mitsu mls gasket? They have moved a lot of cars into the high horsepower arena and are less than half the price.
