After a lot of searches online, wiki and forums, I'll have to give in and ask..

I need some advice here. I compared the old Mitsubishi 4layer metal headgasket with the new HKS Stopper headgasket, and found that 2 of the oilholes are smaller on the HKS one. 2 Mitsu holes are 6mm, 2 HKS holes are 3mm.

What can be the reason?

Here is the Mitsu gasket ontop of the HKS one.

Here are the location of the two small oilholes on the HKS gasket, transmission side.

Can this be to keep more oil in the head? Increase pressure on lifters to prevent tick? It's only the two holes on this side that is different, the rest are the same or larger.

Anyone who know what it can be? :)

Thanks,

John

Do anyone know how the oil sirculate in the head?

If the 2 smaller 3mm holes, not 6mm like the Mitsu 4-layer, create a little higher pressure in the lifters, that would be ok?

I am installing it now in a couple of hours, it's nice to know what I'm doing! :D

Heres a oiling diagram, not sure if it helps or not.

Thanks! :)

It was sure helpful for my understanding on how the oil distribute itself in the engine! :)

Here is the approximate locations on the 3mm holes.

I guess this means the turbo and head get a more steady oil-supply? That's my assumption.. :)

So I will not do anything wrong installing this expencive HG. I hope it work for it's money! :(
