What are the pros and cons of each. I read somewhere that the mitsu 4 layer is re-usable ? Is there any truth to that ? I'm not planning on running any more than 20 lbs of boost. Mild mods, 300 HP at the most. Thanks for your input.

the oem will be fine, but its whatever you want there all good. i was gonna get the 4 layer but the guys at slowboy racing recommended the cometic becasue it holds more boost and they said they had better luck with that one. its also the hg they use on their car there.

Here's what i have found over time.

Mitsu OEM (felt) - Good for 16 lbs with HEAD STUDS. They seal on almost anything.

Mitsu Metal - Good for 24 lbs with head studs. Need a decent RA on head/block.

Cometic 4 Layer - Cometic's website says 28 lbs with proper head/block RA and head studs.

Cometic HP - Cometic's website says 36 lbs with certain RA on both surfaces and head studs.

Keep in mind we all know a guy who ran 22 lbs on the stock felt with no head studs... But i have never had that luck. I always recommend checking the head with at the bare minium a straight edge and gauge.

Head studs are a must for most DSM's, they are a much better design than bolts.

Any should be fine with such little boost. Im running the felpro composit hg with 21psi street and 24psi on race gas. I also have arp studs and no hg problems yet. Im sure the oe hg will hold up better than a felpro.
