Ok here is what is going on, I took my car to a performance shop and told them I need my motor rebuilt. I want to go turbo in the future so I told them the 8:1 (iI think that is right) pistions and they told me to run the 10:1 (high compression) pistons because you can get high HP with out a lot of boost. What do y'all think about this?

Is this about the Spyder listed in your profile, or...?

But....what about your screen name? Shouldn't it be........

Nah, just busting them :thumb: Ok, the "norm" for boosting set-ups is 8.8. Our stock ratio is 9.6 comp. Using 8.8 comp gives you a bit more of a cushion for tuning problems. I'm a big proponent of using higher comp pistons (say 10.5) with turbo apps because it gives you a little more pop down low and the boost reacts better (like more power on the same amount of boost) with higher comp. But that requires that you watch your tune a little better. But these cars are not all that sensitive to knock (with my turbo set-up I was not knock limited until I got around 400whp with a 10.5 comp set-up).

So what are you going to use for a tuner? More importantly what are your goals/power levels for the car?

Deff 10.5:1, thats what I did :D After driving around on my first motor(8.8:1) and driving around on my last (10.5:1) the low compression motor sucks balls out of boost. Deff go with the higher compression, even if its just stock compression.

sounds like the main thing to decide is JE or wiseco, give me a call and I can help you out on buying some pistons =P
