Heat wrap recommendations

The TI lava wrap is great stuff. its the best type to use, we used my wrap on my friends CR-Z race car and its doing well and controling heat well, the only down side is it will trap moisture and surface rust the stainless and as most systems are still 304 it still can gain surface rust, 316/321 wont rust at all!

We used DEI but depends on value for money as it seems to be a wide range of cost per brand etc

I went with the ledaut stuff...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011B99B0I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Quite a bit less expensive than the DEI and seems to work fine. I wrapped a 3" downpipe with it. I used dupont engine primer and paint with ceramic to coat the pipe first then wrapped. The only downside i've had with this stuff so far was the fact that i wrapped it with my bare hands and it's basically fiberglass. Since i picked the last of the shards out of my palms i've been wearing gloves to even look at the stuff. Whatever you end up getting, I've heard that soaking it in water prior to wrapping helps with this but i guess then you'll be promoting the whole trapping moisture thing as said above.
