Hey guys I think I'm ready for some performance upgrades. I purchased my 2g Eclipse GS with an aftermarket turbo as well as alot of supporting mods, and this car has alot of upgrades. I now want to start doing stuff myself starting with some handling stuff. I know on a jetta for example you can buy dogbone mounts to increase traction, but I can't seem to find anything like that for an eclipse. Any ideas on what to get? I'm looking for those, or something that has the same effect, engine mounts to get a little more power to the wheels, and a front or rear sway bar(around 20mm) to take turns better. I just put one on my buddies jetta and i loved the difference it made and I'm looking for that effect on mine. You guys have any links for me to look at? Thanks guys

I think some simple stuff to do is get a kit from energy suspension and replace all bushing/motor mounts. It helps transfer power to ground and ride quality. Then I'm sure somebody could better chime in about suspension setup.

What are your plans for the car? Driving on back roads fast is different from a good handling autocross car for example. Personally for you id start by getting good performance tires because that where the average driver will see the most gains in handling. Gc/yellow spring/strut combo is a great upgrade an because you have a turbo I'd recommend some better stopping power by swapping to gsx front calipers or even outlander brakes.

I would say next is to lower the center of gravity by dropping the body an inch or two. I've found a well designed coilover setup will beat any strut/coil combo you can piece together individually.

Im not sure if you can buy a sub frame brace for these cars, but i know in hondas you can. they bolt to the bottom of the car and reduce body roll.

but who needs performance in a honda LOL

Tein type Flex, 16 way adj. coilovers, Mach V Strutbar F/R Custom rear tow bars. Baer Track brakes. 12" rotors front/2 piston calipers, OEM rear disc brake convert, Ingals camber kits F/R

This is the setup I have and it is extremely tight for autocross. Backroads....not so great. Kills your inards. Lol

Best thing you can do is get some sticky rubber, maybe some wider rims too.

Strut tower braces will reduce some flex as well, they make front and rear versions, add those with some beefy sway bars, and some new bushings, and you are good to go!
