I assume you had to lose the rear bumper (metal crash Beam) in order to run the shortened bumper? Saw this done on the org, and wanna do the same to the front and rear on my vr4.

No I trimmed the lower portion off to fit the rear bumper but I still wanted some protection.

I would ask about fitment but you have basically opened up the entire front end

It's just an eBay inter cooler that I welded pipes to and made fit. Just a one off peice.

As far as a turbo I can't just drop 2k on a FP as this is on a budget. I've already planned this out pretty good as far as spool up and turbo choice.

Looks great! Can you post up some more info on what kind of equipment you are using for paint?

-How big is your compressor
-What kind/brand of paint gun you using?
-What fluid tips are you using for primer, paint and clear?
-What kind/brand of body filler?
-Did you already wet sand and buff after those pics were taken?

Sorry for all the questions, just getting ready to do some similar work on my car, and the details would help me out.

no worries i should have added that when I put everything up anyways haha.

I used a 300 gal compressor that was used at the BMW dealer before they remodeled. but it can be completed using far less of a compressor.

for the primer i used a cheap harbor freight hvlp spray gun with a 1.8 tip for thick primer/filler cover. for the color I used a mac tools hvlp 1.4 tip as well as clear picked it up years ago on clearance.

I cant remember what filler i used but your local auto paint shop would have a good idea of what to use.

and yes I just finished wet sanding and buffing it all out. but the paint laid down so nice it took me maybe 1-2 hrs of sanding where It was sprayed.

Thanks! I have a 2.5hp 21 gallon compressor that pushes about 6 CFM @ 40 PSI. I'm hoping it is good enough to run my HVLP gun.

The paint really laid nice though, most home brew jobs take a lot of wet sanding to look that good. I really like the color too man. Blows the OEM BG out of the water.

What's the plan for the door cladding and dog legs?

that should be enough to paint. you may need to spray a panel at a time and let the compressor build up again but most paints have 45min to 1 hr work time. I think it laid down good because it was right around 70-80 when I sprayed and didn't get to cold out at night. plus ive practiced adjusting the gun using big panels of cardboard to make sure the spray fan was perfect.

and thanks I love the color also its a 2000's Porsche and 97/98 3000gt color so i stayed factory Mitsubishi

I just found a spoiler less trunk so the trunk and door cladding/doglegs will all be the same color in the end. thats the next phase of the project. then will be the front fenders and bumpers. still on the lookout for ether a JDM hood for dirt cheap "i know yeah right" or a good stock hood. the one that is on it right now is hammered.

Nice that gun worked well for you I need a new one for the base color for my car, what brand of paint I usually use the Omni brand, not sure what brand this time around.

yes found it used. i have plans to fabricate a manifold to work with the 12cm housing some day. but not right now as I will not be pushing this to the limits yet.

Oh ok I see thanks, I like the Omni paint too painted my dsms before, looking for a color now, thinking the teal for the 1gb talon, this go around with a base clear. Great body work I did some on my cars and this dsm too.

Ya it's a build in progress so jdm rear is planned but no spoiler. Makes it look like every other 80's/90's car. If it has no function it must go. Plus I plan to add a small lip to the trunk to break up the lines slightly.

I picked up a set of federal 595 rs-r 235/40-17's and decided to Plasti dip the wheels black.

removed the rear seat cover and sewed the stitching back together at the headrest. at least its not nasty anymore.
