So i am getting ready to throw a high horsepower turbo on my gvr4 and was lookign fo some opinions on thses turbos. i want something that can make big power (i know all three can) with decent spool. im not expecting them to react like a gt28rs or anything, but it should be streetable. ive heard from a local dsmer that the 4088 was surprisingly streetable, but he had a 2.3 stroker. I am cureently running a 9:1 wiseco 2.0 so i am not sure how the spool would be on it. if anyone has one of these turbos please chime in and let me know what you think. also what would the spool difference be btween the 4088 and the 4094? i would assume the 4094 to be later spooling, but how much later? thanks guys

have you thought about an FP35 turbo? Just curious.

Is this car going to be a DD? Also, what manifold do you have currently and what do you plan to get? On a 2.0, I would think the 35 would be more fun.

ill be getting a dnp manifold. and this is not for a daily driver, its a weekend car.

on other boards guys are saying to go with the 35r, surprised i havent recieved much info here.

The 35 will be what i would call for a perfect street monster. It has decent spool to give you that toss in you seat fealing while you smoke buy the competiter. The 40 is still going to make your car streetable, but personally for a street car thats just to much lag for me, but most say lag is overrated. I would not go bigger than the 4088 for a weekend car, but the other doesnt seem much worse as far as spool, but i have never seen it in action. Either one will work great, i just wouldnt go with the 4094. How much power are you lookign for? 400whp, 500whp, 600whp?

And then if you go for a 3582r you find yourself interested in a 3082r. If the information hasn't been updated recently last time I checked the fp3065 had bested the fastest 3582r without nitrous.

3065 is a 3082R.

Wrong, the 3065 is
GT 30 compressor
.65 turbine

the 82 means its got an .82 turbine housing,
Really? Is that why GT3582R comes with three different turbine housing options? .63, .82 and 1.06 AR? http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT35/GT3582R_714568_3.htm
And shouldn't GT3076 come with .76AR turbine housing according to your logic?

Here is what Garrett part numbers mean. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/gt_basics.html

GT3082R is a GT30 CHRA with GT35 compressor wheel, a mix breed of GT30 and GT35 if you will, which is what is in the FP3065 and it's not a .65 but a .68 AR FP30 tubine hosusing.

Force Performance part numbers doesn't carry the same meanings either, 30 = GT30 CHRA and 65 = 65lb/min, nothing to do with the turbine housing, all FP series turbos uses the same FP30 .68AR turbine housing.

From Garrett the second number is usually the exducer of the compressor wheel. that is in your link.

Exactly, I guess you missed what I added on the FP part numbers.

This is why 3082R and 3582R uses the same compressor wheel.

I thought that the FP turbos are different from the garrett, the 3065 was the 650hp and the 3052 was the 520hp turbos with a gt30 center section.

problem is that all of the turbo makers use there own guidelines to name there turbos and it seems they are all different. For instance I have a gt42-76 but it is bigger that a gt4202 or gt4294 as the last 2 the 02 , 94 are the exducer and for mine the 76 is the inducer, 76.7mm

Did you go back and read what I added in post #10 about FP part numbers? FP3065 uses GT3082R CHRA and FP3052 uses GT3076R (or GT3071R, not 100% sure) CHRA.

Not sure what you mean here but GT4202 = 102mm compressor exducer and I don't know where you got GT42-76 from, that is not a real Garrett part number. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/products/turbochargers.html

Ya the FP stuff looks correct. As for my turbo I bought it off a supra guy that went bigger. never used I don't know where he bought it but I think it is a Precision Turbo turbo as they sell these, I think it is a custom job when he bought it. Look in the precision turbo medium frame section.

right now im reving to 7500-8 on stock springs and retainers, but would eventually like to upgraade to run up to 9000. my goal is to be around 600 awhp or higher.

Looks like you have a non BB PT-76, I couldn't find a GT42-76 on their site.

3065 is a 3082R.
I know. And looking at my first post I can see why you would tell me that. ROFL :D

What I was trying to say earlier amidst a severe brain fart is that if you like the gt3582r you might take a second to look at the 3082r. Tad bit quicker spool and the last time I checked the fp3065/gt3082r was still going faster than the fastest gt3582r turbo without nitrous. Pretty competent combination and more pleasant with a 2 liter.

I have a 4094 on the car 2.0 t gets 35psi by 5700 RPM, to e for a street car the 35R is hard to beat. The 3065 was the most fun turbo I ever ran, went 10.4@140 on it and it spooled super fast.

Although the fastest non-NOS run was with a 3065, the GT3582R has made as much as 680WHP on Turbo Trix's car (no NOS). I've never seen a dyno near 600WHP on the FP3065/3082 on a DSM.

Then again we'll put this whole thing to rest when Bruce lines with me when we get both our new setups finished :D

The FP3065 Doesn't hold a candle to the power you will see out of a GT35R. Two different turbo's for two different applications.
