Got some more progress done, got the new fan wired up and mounted.

Well the Alternator is all wired up now too =D BIG thanks for Mike @ FIST for doing the welding and Rob Patterson for putting it all together and wiring it up.

Just got word that my crank and bearings are ####ed up in the motor, and it ruined the front main seal again after seconds of being ran too, looks like Samara won't be running anytime soon, and the motor and crank will need to come out, this sucks, and I am soo ####ing pissed off! I just cant get a break FML..
 
Ok just to clear things up here because there is alot of small details left out, yes FIST built the motor years ago but when it came time to install it, fist was in the process of moving shops and couldn't accept the work, so I had no choice to take it to a friend and do the work on the side. The friend was the one who finished up the motor and installed it, then one morning i drove the car to work and noticed a shaking coming from the motor and pulled over and didnt see anything, then it got worse, so i babied it to work then noticed oil had been leaking the whole time and was empty,so this is not on FIST it's my own fault for taking it to a friend and for such a big build. I should of taken it to FIST to finish it up.


The motor is in good hands again, and things will be done right this time around and will come back making great power very soon.

at the time he had to get piping done, wiring, basically everything, and in the end i was not happy, now the car and the motor is in good hands with Rob Patterson formally co owner of FIST, and all of the recent stuff was done by him, gonna go ahead and change out the cranks and hope my old one from the old motor is usable, then if all goes well i'll get all new bearings and Rob will assemble it all together and she'll finally be back on the road again.
 
some more progress, getting closer to getting Samara back on the road again finally, bought a bunch of heat wrap for all the hot parts including a T3 DEI turbo blanket

then went ahead and upgraded the clutch while im in there, because i know the old one wont hack it, spoke to Tim Zimmer and he told me this was the best of the best single disk clutch there is, is doesnt get any better then this for single disk's. supposed to handle upwards of the 700 mark. this is the Southbend SS-X pressure plate with full Ceramic disk (b series). part number K536SSXB

Hopefully i can get all this finished up in time for the FP lonestar Shootout in Ennis TX on May 12th.

That's a great idea corey, I didn't even think of that, I'll see if I can do that before the motor gets dropped back in, thanks for the tip man.

Got the motor all buttoned up and ready to slap on the new clutch and tranny then drop it back in the car. =)

also got all my hot parts wrapped up in fancy DEI Titanium heat wrap and Turbo blanket. still need to change the position of the downpipe so thats why it isnt wrapped yet.

Took the VR4 to the local Houston Coffee and Cars this weekend, it was a great turnout and lots of people came up to the VR4 and asked about it.
