Hi everybody,
So what I have is a fully stock 95 GS-T with 72,xxx miles on it. I've never had a problem with it and it is rarely pushed hard.
A few weeks ago, I noticed a soft hiss sound from the engine bay every time I shut off the car. Today, the sound is noticeably louder.
Here's a YouTube link to a recording of my car shutting off:

Thank you so much in advance!

Sounds like metal to metal contact to me, that or you have a harmonica attached to your BOV... Anything else to narrow it down? You can have a friend shut off the car while you try to narrow it down to a specific bearing.

90moneypit, you were right about the metal on metal contact...
After 2 years, a loud whine developed somewhere in the engine bay. The noise progressively grew louder and louder as the days went by. I thought it was the accessory belts since they were showing signs of age, so I got them replaced immediately. Unfortunately, after the belts were replaced, the whine was still there. After numerous opinions from overpriced auto shops and a "thorough" mechanical diagnosis service from FFTEC (I can't believe they didn't catch this problem), no one seemed to pin point the problem until I brought the car in to this small humble shop in Sunnyvale called Hanks Auto Repair.
Anyway, in the end, the problem was the water pump. For some reason, the propeller was in contact with the housing(?) causing it to make that metal on metal whine. Here's a video of the noise in it's early stages:

A couple days after I took this, the pitch of the whine became a LOT higher and the volume of it grew as well.

Happy tuning.
