ok guys today I purchased a 1995 eclipse GST really clean no dents perfect paint great interrior. Looked over the car no engine knock. I knew it had a slight problem with booting and it kinda acted jerky when u started to hit higher RPM and it wanted to cut out but when I shifted it stoped. The guy even told me about it so I just assumed it was like a fuel cut or sumthing. The car is 100% stock. Anyway I got off subject. Ok so I start the car i start getting into 3.5K or higher and the car wants to jerk and cut out. and it seems like if I push the pedal to far down it really wants to cut out. Any of u have any ideas on what the problem might be? I mean I knew I had to fix some thnigs engine wise but I got the car for really cheap so I didn't care. Any help or suggest U could give me would be greatly appreciated. :dsm:
 
OK guys I really need ## help here. I got everything put in and done and started the car and it seems to be a lot louder and the car is idling really hard now. Im not sure what would cause this. Any suggestions? Please help me here. :dsm:
 
Do I have to the the whole metal thing again or can I just buy the rubber thing?

.... Just buy brand new motor mounts. Can't be too expensive, I'm like 100% positive that there are some motor mounts for sale in the Classifieds section. Do a quick search. So the 1st thing you need to do is replace the motor mounts, then check your Crank Pulley/Harmonic Balancer. My car was shaking bad too... well the motor was shaking really bad. Turned out to be the Crank Pulley. So I would check that. Maybe it seperated. You can see that if you take off the left driver side wheel and look under there. Depending on the mileage on your car... you might just want to replace that anyway. My car has 93,000 miles and i had to replace my Crank Pulley 6 months ago.

So here's the short-end. Check/Replace the following:

1. Motor Mounts (all of them)
2. Crank Pulley
3. Test drive car
 
Does it idle hard at start up only or consistently even after it warmed up ? What rpm is it idling at ?
 
My car is STILL having trouble starting. It started and ran a whole day, next morning it doesnt. It cranks but doesnt start. And when i mean it cranks, im talking about it cranks all the way like it wants to start. It just doesnt turn all the way over. Any help? Ive replaced PLENTY of parts. Only thing i havent replaced would be the starter and IAC.

I might have to take a video of it today and show you guys. Im getting spark & fuel.

Only recent mod is 255 lph walbro fp & AFPR. But the AFPR leaks at the adjuster screw, i will be replacing that soon. The Fuel Pressure is around 35-40 psi


Any guesses or help would be greatly appreciated. Not to mention i have wires on the way and the plugs are new.
