I have got two 98 Eclipse GST problems!!

Ok so the first problem I have is only after I boost a grayish white smoke pours out of the tailpipe and stops after a minute i am assuming its valve seals but is the anything else it could be ? And the other problem is my tach wont read at all it just all of a sudden stopped its factory so i am not sure of where it is hook up under the hood to see if it is disconnected or what if anyone can help would appreciate it.

How much psi are you boosting? It could be excessive crankcase pressure. If you have the stock PCV valve in place it can't really hold back over 10 psi. You can actually blow thru a new Mitsu PCV valve with your mouth. And we are supposedly only able to blow like 4 psi or something. Anyway, I put a check valve inline b/w my intake and pcv to stop boost from pressurizing my valvecover and my smoking issues stopped. Liquid/Gas Check Valves - US Plastic Corporation

oh and its only getting round 8 or 9 I have it turned down never had it boosting anymore than that

does it smoke only under boost, or also driving just in vac too?

It doesn't do it in boost at all only after i start to slow back down it just unleashes the smoke like crazy

Boost leak test and Compression test, how is the shaft play on the turbo and any damage to the wheels?

does sound like valve stem seals, but definatley do the tests stated above to be positive. goodluck!

the turbo is new so im not to sure it has any problems im just guessing oil is seeping through the valve seals. so i am think of just tearing the head down and restoring it. Any suggestions on the tach not working ?
