Im assuming my car had a stock clutch bases on the fact I bought it used completely stock and un molested. Did some small upgrades after routine maintenance (all in my profile). I was tuning previously with a 2g maf and SAFC 2, had a decent tune I guess with some deceny power. Sold that because of how limited the SAFC. Went speed density, got a great tune going with real good power. A week later, today, my clutch went out. Or so I think. Loud pop, and now the clutch wont disengage, wont go in gear, if I put it in gear with the car off press down the clutch and turn the starter over the car will move as it tries to start. It also makes a very loud screeching noise when the clutch is presses. Sound like a clutch problem? I have already done the normal, new master, clutch adjusted, fluid drained and refilled, bled the system. Havent replaced the slave but it isnt leaking or anything.

Anyways planned on replacing it either way. Always hear a lot about horsepower but not much about torque. I was going to go wit this one, the stage two for 195. Hard to believe with my setup id be exceeding the 320 torque rating. Just wanted to get yalls opinion?

I've ran ACT clutches and I really cant complain. HOWEVER, never use the TOB that comes from ACT. For some reason they dont work well. Just run an OEM mitu TOB.
The great thing with ACT is that you can givem a call and pretty much build your clutch to your specs. You pick the pressure plate, the disc sprung or unsprung, 4-6-organic, to twin dics clutches.
Since your aim is to replace the clutch may as well look at getting the flywheel turned or a new one.

Yea i've read and heard many good things about ACT, with the exception of there throw out bearing. Everyone seems to love them and good reviews. Just a little out of my price range, if I could get a decent clutch, like the one above, for half the price of an ACT that would be much better. Just need suggestions on how well it will hold up

well used clutches are a gamble either way.
I,m sorry to say it but you get what you pay for.
there may be a few in the marketplace here, with more honest people who wont steer you wrong.
my recommendation is to bite the bullet and just save up a little bit and buy a good clutch and flywheel that fits your application rather than just buying a cheapie that for a general purpose and that wont last under stress and abuse.

I would recomend a Southbend clutch kit over ACT IMHO I've seen to many ACT clutches fail... .

OP I would Look threw this from TMZ Performance The owner is member here and helped with testing of these clutches... .

Mines not listed... . But, yes I run one :) It holds up perfect.

My recommendation comes from experience from more then just my car though.

Did you ever find out what the loud pop noise then no clutch pressure problem was? Mine did that a few days ago too and now I'm waiting on my master and slave cylinder to see if thats the problem. Don't understand why the pop had to happen but I'm thinking its the pressure plate? My car is stock with stock clutch as well since I bought it 100% stock. Thanks!

anyone????
