Yup, get the translator and uicp and intake if you need it from there. Then get an maf from a junkyard.

Well I ordered the 2G translator from ramchargers. I got the 2G unit because I had already spliced in the 2G connector to run the 2g mass on my 1G. Paid 214 including two day shipping. All I need now is the 3" meter. I was thinking about trying the local junk yards but not sure how many Impala SS' I'd find. Anyone know what other engines this maf was used in? Thanks again fellas.

Send that back, you're not supposed to run the 2g maft on a 1g regardless of what plug you have. You need to run the 1g maft, even if it means re-connecting the 1g plug. When the product first came out a few others made this mistake and couldn't get things spot on. It will run, but not perfect.

This got me thinking so I called dejon tool (I made a mistake above and said I ordered it from ramchargers but I ordered from dejon tool) and spoke to the sales guy. He said the chips are exactly the same as well as the instruction booklets...the only thing that is different is the connector, which again will mate with the 2g connector I spliced in to run the 2g mass. You mentioned they had problems when the product first came out...supposedly this one is a newer version with certain "fixes" associated with it. Perhaps that is the difference? We'll see...anyone else have problems with this.

I noticed that you already bought your stuff but no one mentioned the classifieds on this site. There are a lot of good parts to be had for good prices. You can find the entire setup (maft and MAF) here in the classifieds for less that $200. At least that way DSMers is helping each other; Someone get to unload their stuff for some much needed cash, while the other gets the parts at a good deal. Provided buyer and seller are honest w/ each other it is a win-win situation.

I agree with you 100%. I actually posted this in the wanted section and got no replies. I also saw a set up in the parts for sale section but never got any response to my inquireies.

ongreen sells em on ebay for more than ramchargers or anyone else for that matter. It says buy it now for $199.99 but the shipping was actually a few bucks more than everybody else.
