Basic MAFT Questions
What is it?
What does it do?
Where does it go?
Where does the xxxx color wire go?
Can I vent with a MAFT?
What MAF can I use?
Can I use a 2g MAFT with a 1g?
Can I use a 1g MAFT with a 2g?

Sorry guys !but am not really sure about this one. What does the MAFT really do and is it a good buy?thanks

It looks like the version 2, where did you get it and did you as what version it was? Also check fullthrotteltech.com

I was told it was for a 2g, but he had it on his 1g, that is why the connector is cut off. But then he told me he thinks its a version 1.3, but the 1.3 were different for 2g and 1g, but the 2.0's are universal between the 2...
The board says rev 1.6 if that means anything.

This is a question to everyone who is running SD or Maft in blowthrough. What are you guys using on your turbo for filtering. Mesh screen, cone filter, tube + filter? Post a picture with your reply if you can.

When I was running a MAFT blowthru setup I used a cone filter and intake pipe to keep the filter in factory location, in an effort to keep it away from all the heat the engine makes.

AFC is an Air and Fuel controller. It intercepts signal from the MAS and fools the ECU into adjusting fuel flow to the injectos, by sending a modified signal, based on settings of MAFT.

AFC is needed for further adjustment precision. To "fine tune".

So you can run both? I have the safc in my closet right now but was thinking of going with the maft, just because I have a 2g mas in my 1g now but the air filter is so jammes in my fender I dont think its getting any air really.

I read that DSM Link v3 a.k.a. ECM Link supports GM MAF and there is no need for the translator. How about DSM Link v2 - will I need the translator to use a GM MAF with the link. Also is it a good idea?

A friend of mine is supercharging his NA 4G63 and we're trying to find best ECU solution since his ECU is for the NA motor

I had a little doubt, just want to clear up since i forgot, i have had gm maf on pretty much all my past dsm and now my current as well.

My question is, i know that the connector that goes onto the gm maf clips on cause i can hear the click, but when i put it on the car's maf plug, it just slides in with no click sound, is it supposed to be like that ?
