ok ive looked everywhere. this sound pretty dumb but the search engine for this website sucks. and everyone is probly going to crush me for asking this but all i need to know is the basic setting for the translator on a stock set up. i have the 3.5 in gm maf. i just what the car to run so i can get it to a dyno.

also i have a dsmlogger and i dont know how to use it. i know how to use the program but i dont know what everything means and what to change from the information that was logged. :dsm: if anyone knows any websites that will tell me what eveything means so i can learn how to tune the car enough to get it to a dyno shop.

you can look and find more info about the MAFT setup in the forums.(check out the FAQ forum) the search feature isn't that bad :shhh: here is a link to some basic pocketlogger info.

Are you using DSM or OBDII for your logger? Also, for a 3.5" MAF put the first dip switch up, leave the rest down.

i got it from dsmloggers.com but it has the ODBII connection. i got it pluged and ran a test but i dont know how to tune with the numbers that i got.

definitely learn to use your logger before you even try to start tuning with the MAFT. become familiar with timing advance and o2 voltage vs. rpms. the GENERAL idea on a 2g is to start rich, and slowly try leaner setting until you get to the leanest setting you can run while your timing still advances to around 16-18 degrees by redline and your o2 voltage is around .94v. anything more is on the rich side. anythin less and/or if your timing is on the low side you are probably running too lean.

ok yall are going to think im retarded. i dont know how to download my logs on to the computer so i dont know how to show you a sheet. but from what i have read today my numbers dont look good.

these are my peek values:

rpms 6220
02 1.03
timing 34
tps 98
airflow 24.66
sht trim 17
long trim 12
air temp 95
wtr temp 230
mph 73
load 100

sorry im so new to this. i know about the car but nothing about tuning. plus im trying to learn the logger. im going to being doing this for a living and im trying to learn as much as possible before i finish my 4 year degree. so when i go to mechanic school im not in the dark.

even worse i dont know how to recharge the battery. i have a wall plug in but there is no place to put the plug.

i know people hate dealing with people like me but im just trying to learn.

Don't forget to log knock, too.
