The car will be starting the year on a 2g intake manifold. I dont see it as a choke point just yet. I see it as a helper actually for what I'm looking to do. We'll see soon enough if my theroy is going to pan out... I dont see it holding the car back from going 9's though.

Black 2gs look good.

Are they retreads?

I also like the stock intake manifold idea, I been meaning to put my stocker back on and play around with my car too. I wanna see if it might benefit.

They are M&H Street Strips in the 235/60 flavor. DOT approved as this car sees the street more then the track.:thumb:

I always ask ppl and they never give me anything solid.

What was your procedure for polishing the compressor cover? It looks top of the line. :hellyeah:

Take a angle grinder take the letters off and give the whole cover a quick go over till it's scrated up and flat. Then take like 80 grit or something very coarse and go over it then take like 150 and do the same all the way up to like 400 grit. You only need like one sheet of each nothing crazy. Then wet sand it with like 600 and then 1000 grit. Clean her off with soapy water while your wet sanding. Once your done I used Mothers Billet polish and just rub it and clean her off and your golden.

I didn't use much polish either because my engine bay has more of a brushed aluminum than hardcore polish look so you can get it much shinier.

How'd you get in between the small areas with a grinder? Wouldn't a grinder distort at least a little the roundness of the cover?

Well I have been slacking a little as last week we were down in Florida for vacation but this week and next the plan is to just about finish the car. My tial wastegates FINALLY came in. The new tial gates come watercooled, I believe I'm one of the first to get them. But I won't be utilizing this feature...

We also finally agreed on a new color for this pile!!!

It will be fun very, very soon!!!

It's not easy but you get what you can and the rest you do by hand using the same coarse to fine tech.

I like the new gates but whey get them if your not going to use the new tech?

You're gonna ruin a perfectly good black car, by painting it pink? That's too bad. Other than that, pretty cool build!

subscribed for results. not a fan of the whole car being pink, maybe some accents. but the black looks good

I have no reason to run coolant thru the gates as the gates aren't restrcited to flow. My Shearer is flanged for the MVS gates and they ONLY come watercooled unless you get some of the earlier ones. I waited 6 weeks to get these, as the purples were sold out everywhere!!!

The car is going pink as the wife wants it that way and she will be running the car as well. The black paint is sooo nice but it's time for something a little more over the top. The car will stand out. We had a pink 2g a couple years ago and will have one once again. This time hopefully a 9 Second one!!!

If I remember correctly, I've bought some parts from Nikkee. The build looks great, I'm currently building an AUTO AWD too.. Don't know how I feel about pink, but if that's what the wife wants then there is not much you can do LOL

I wish I had sponsors, it would make my life much easier. :(
