I have a 92 TSI AWD with 16g turbo full 3 inch exhasut tubular manifold.. so on so forth... A major question is My stock fuel pump went bad.. So im going to purchace a 255 Tomorrow, Im wondering if that is ok to run with Stock Injectors and Stock FPR, for a week or 2 Untill i regenerate money to purchase the FPR and Injectors? I will be getting 680 Injectors btw. Any help would be nice guys!
 
Idle doesnt bother me, Its rather random as it is. haha.. I just leaving room for upgrades. The major question is will it damage anything!
 
Yes, you will be ok for a bit to run the 255lph without an AFPR. Just know you'll run rich. I ran a 255lph without an AFPR for a while and didn't notice any horrible effects. I just knew it wasn't ideal and needed to be fixed ASAP.

You can run any size injectors with the 255lph. But when you upgrade to the 680's, you're going to need a good engine management system (DSMlink, chiped ECU, etc.) to control them as they are out of the range of an S-AFC.
 
i had my 255 with no fpr and stock injectors for a long time. I still dont have a fuel pressure regulator and the car runs great. You will be very happy with the dsm link. If you do go with the dsm link you should buy some big injectors while you are at it so when you upgrade you wont have to re buy parts.
 
If you can afford DSMlink, don't skimp on the AFPR. If you do go huge injectors, overrun from not having the FPR will make your problem worse; huge injectors with too high of a base fuel pressure means more "extra", overrun-induced fuel that you get compared to smaller injectors (like 660s), so you may actually have noticeable idle and fuel economy problems if you go big.

If you had to drop one of (FP, AFPR, injectors, DSMlink) from the list for "step 1", I'd drop the larger injectors. Save up then replace them. That way, you do step 1 and have a car that *should* run, so you can play with DSMlink knowing a very good starting setup (stock) and figure out the software, tuning, etc. Replacing the injectors is pretty frikkin easy; only thing extra doing it this way is having to depressurize the fuel system one more time:rolleyes:.

That's my recommendation. Oh, and I'm jealous you can afford FP, injectors, and DSMlink all at once.:mad: But my wife got the title of our other car in the mail yesterday...we thought it was a 7-year loan, but I guess it was 5...saves me $422/month.:rocks: Maybe I can buy something more than shifter bushings now.:p
 
LOL, Yeah i got tired of car payments real fast, Those had to go. Im not sure if the previous owner of my car put a pump in it, I dont think so and he said no but never know.. And also i dont hear anything back there so im guessing thats a no.
 
You could probably bump it up 2-3psi without any problems, but I'd just leave it where you've got it and play it safe. It's pretty cold out around here right now so a cold/dense charge of air means a greater demand for fuel. No need to push it, just get the right parts and do it right.
 
I would leave it, untill i got everything. I would run better and you wouldnt have to worry about messing up anything.
