All fuel cut threads are combined here.

I've tried doing a search but to no avail.

I was just wondering what Fuel Cut is. I've heard it tossed around alot, but do not actually know the details behind it. And, naturally, I can gather that its when the fuel is cut off, but when and why.

Thanx,
Jon

doesnt feel that bad but ya it jerks the car a bit.. i fixed my prob atleast LOL i had loose bolts in my manifold plus the intercooler piping leaked and throttle body gaskets were bad also

There are ecu chips that are available for eproms, disable it through a good engine management setup like DSMLink or AEM, or delay it with an afc and larger injectors. The last being the most common.

Yesterday I decided to raise teh boost on my car I was aiming for around 16psi but the first time I did it I didn't set it right so I took it for a drive and on my autometer guage its was reading up to 19psi and not getting any signs of fuel cut

Is there something wrong with my ECU or something I have the origional Eprom ECu that came with my car and before when I turned the boost up I would hit fuel cut at 17

I know this might seem as a good thing but I don't want it to turn into someting bad if my car spikes

your mod list says a walbro 190lph?

you have plenty of fuel...

and im assuming it is a 14b? i have been told that it is pretty hard to hit fuel cut on a 14b stock fuel support...but you are not stock...

It was what... mid twenties yesterday?? What was the temperature when you hit cut @17psi?

I've spiked to mid twenties in the winter before without hitting cut when I had my 90 TSI. (all I had was a rewired Walbro 255)

Okay, i have a 1992 talon Tsi awd and i installed my mbc 2 days ago. When i put it on, it was turned up too far so when i drove it (cars an auto) the boost gauge went to about 25. The comp is the automatic ecu, has 450cc injectors and 14b off of a manual tsi. Was wondering why my a/f gauge read full green the whole time up to round 6k rpm when i decided to let off and I didnt hit any type of fuel cut. Motor has 70 +/-k miles on it and it blew a big puff of black smoke when i let off... Any comments would help, kinda new to the scene, atleast the fueling portion.

i'm guessing you don't have a wideband o2. with that taken into account, your a/f meter is worthless. it pretty much tells you when you are WOT (green), or not (lean)

recently got a DSM 1g talon and the TPS is bad (new one in the mail) everything was working fine but just recently when i jump on the gas and start pushing boost sometimes it just dies and you get thrown forward (fuel cut i believe) any idea why what or what to do??

might nto make much sense but tell me and i'll try to explain for

Just wondering why I'm not hitting fuel cut until about 21-22lbs on the 14b? I have no fuel mods but have basically the rest of the Stage 1 mods.. I know it's not great, but I can run 19lbs on it all day and it will hold until redline without hitting it. Is this good, bad, or what?

Also, on a semi-related subject, why does my Dejon MBC suck and not hold at all, it will spike from 18-19lbs all the way down to 11. My home made one is 10 times better and holds boost very well... And Yes, I have toyed with it for about 2 hours straight and still the same result..

I believe he is NOT hitting it.......and is wondering how its possible that he hasnt hit it....not why is he hitting it

Yeah, it's why I am NOT hitting it... I've got a logger and everything reads within decent specs. The MBC is home made and underneath the adjuster, is where it goes into the j-pipe and the adjuster side, goes right to the wastegate actuator. I was working on getting a 255 and 550 or 580s, but I'm looking into other mods first (E316g or Td06 20g) :thumb:

okay well i just got my car fixed up. my head got ported and cleaned. i got a new metal head gaksets, new studs, new oil dump tube, and new oil gaskets. Whenever i get on it, like around 5xxx rpms, it starts to like bog and just doesn't really go anywhere. Im not sure what the problem is. I was driving it saturday and sunday and monday and it was fine. I just got on it today for like 2 seconds down this road and that is what happened. I have a big 16g turbo on 8lbs. Stock injectors. a 250 walbro fuel pump, 2g manifold, 3'inch exhaust if that helps. Im not sure if this is fuel cut or not, just wanted to know what the problem is and how i can fix it.

but like after it doesn't go anywhere, right before it goes insane, it like kinda backfires and the shakes a bit.
